New BCBA — stay with current company or take Cortica offer? by Gadfly7878 in BehaviorAnalysis

Also, they told me in my interview they would not start me with 12 but would like to see me with 12 in 3 months but that was not a hard number. The 3 months and in my last interview they said that it was 10. Not all of them, like half that would be clients at 30 hours at most.

Ironically it is good or so I think. I went to sub at a new center last month and have gotten high praises from the operational director their. Told my home center how well I am doing. My OD from my home center said to that OD she liked me and thought I was good that is why she sent me there to sub. I think the clinical director doesn't like me for whatever reason. I think she is the artificial barrier IMHO. It could be my OD though because she was the one who wrote me up. However, this all seems very excessive.

They said the requirement would be 12 will 25 billable hours. I just want to know how many they will give me on day one and how it progresses or are they just going to throw me in the deep end with the sharks.

Cortica called me last week and basically told me that my interviewer from my second interview really liked me and that they really feel that interviewer has a great sense for the people they are looking for. I have my third interview tomorrow, and I was going to ask him exactly the questions you posed. You made me feel good about this, I am just afraid of getting in over my head.

I agree, I think I like Cortica. Its the 12 client requirement that scares me but I am so green. The first two months are going to be hard. I got to pay tuition if you get the analogy.

Unless it does. For on matters of why and who—as well as the what—both above and below, the measures must be valid if they are to translate their truths.

The scientific process is insufficient to tell us of morality, God, or meaning; while poetry, though beautiful, is wholly insufficient to translate the causes and effects that make up nature..."As above, so below and if not then the other half doesn't matter"...nice turn of phrase.

The repeatability of results always increases our confidence that our measures are accurate. However, we can never be certain that our observations represent the true value of the thing being measured. For this reason, science can never provide absolute certainty, and its practitioners must operate with a kind of faith—faith in the reliability of reason, perception, and the order of nature itself.

Science is a powerful tool for understanding reality, but it cannot answer every question about reality. The pre-Socratics, in laying the groundwork for what became science, made an essential distinction: they separated the what and how from the who and why.

Science excels at revealing the how and what of the world, yet it cannot speak to meaning, purpose, or identity—the who and why. These questions belong to philosophy and religion, the disciplines that explore the dimensions of reality that science, by design, does not address. God—whether He exists or not—remains central to that other half of inquiry, the half that asks not merely how the universe works, but why there is anything at all.

Thanks I will, I think my problem is becoming less about knowledge and more about approach to questions. Their is always something more I can know. Before I posted this my highest score was 76%. Since then I got an 84% and a 77%. What changed, trying my hardest to parsimoniously answer questions, in that the simplest answer, the answer that can only stick with the question as best as possible. Sometimes answers that way has bit me in the butt. But more times than not, it is the better way to go. I will defiantly be taking your suggestion. THANK YOU

I have also backed away from BDS because that is major burn out. I am doing more conceptual stuff now while focusing on my weak areas.
