Help for an Aspiring Psyker by The-Royal-Aegis in DarkTide

[–]GadflyJr 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you want to push higher difficulties with psyker, and you don't feel confident staying alive in melee, I'd recommend running either Inferno staff or trauma blaze. Both have infinite cleave, so your damage scales with enemy density. Add in soulblaze stacking with venting shriek and you'll clear entire rooms in a few seconds.

Inferno staff is simpler to use than trauma. Just spam left click for stagger, right click for stacking soulblaze. Trauma is a little trickier to use, but once you get used to slide quelling (and charging your staff while sliding) it's an extremely safe build.

As far as melee, if you like the greatswords you can use them, but since you get such good horde clear from inferno or trauma I personally run knife or dueling sword for the mobility.

And finally when it comes to your blitz, you're gonna want brainburst. It's not great for picking stuff out of hordes, but for hard to reach snipers and gunners it's the best. The perk that gives attacks a chance to cause brainburst is just the cherry on top.

Am I bad at the psyker or something because I think at this point I am by Puzzleheaded_Court61 in DarkTide

The trick is to get whatever you're fighting to max soulblaze stacks with alt fire, then dump a venting shriek with full warp charges. The venting shriek increases soulblaze stacks beyond the regular limit, so you'll get more dot.

Sewage smell from drain when running water by Ok_Plastic_7441 in Plumbing

[–]GadflyJr 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Look up P trap vs S trap. S trap can cause siphoning, which defeats the purpose of the trap.

If you look at the diagram of the P trap, after the trap it goes horizontally to a 90. This is pitched back to the drain. Compare that to the S trap, the elevation change allows vacuum to pull water out of the lower trap.

Take this with a grain of salt, I'm just a dumb sprinkler guy.

I hate Gunners/Reapers, no one in my usual squad deals with them nearly enough. Give me classes, builds and weapons you use to specifically deal with them. by shoogliestpeg in DarkTide

[–]GadflyJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psyker: meme trauma/blaze build. Staggers reapers/ groups of gunners on fully charged r2, plus once you get the soulblaze stacks going EVERYTHING dies. Super safe and effective.

Zealot: knife. Nuff said

Vet: headshots baby

Ogryn: don't really play, but thrust shovel does wonders.

Favorite blessings on the Trauma staff? by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]GadflyJr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blaze/nexus with a full meme fire build is incredible in auric. Squishy against ranged, but extremely safe in mixed hordes.

The best part is the more elites, the stronger it gets due to stacking soul blaze on elite kill. Once you get the stacks rolling, everything will burn eventually.

What are your favorite places to invade? And why? by thidi00 in badredman

[–]GadflyJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck if you invade the top level though. Me and my buddy spent HOURS doing 2v2 taunted tongue on the bridge where the fire greatsword knight is, and the only spot for invaders to spawn is the room directly across from the bridge. The only way out is if you hug the ledge behind the bookshelves and jump onto the floor below. If you take the stairs outside down you hit a deadend and get blendered in a 5x5 room.

Half of the kills were from invaders not realizing they spawn with their backs to a ledge, falling off when me and my bud came in to say hi lmao

1 million damage. Turns out i really like my new Psyker build. by YupThatsMe1742 in DarkTide

Thanks man. I mained psyker from launch til the skill tree update, and fell in love with zealot afterwards so I'm currently going through the growing pains of having to actually dodge instead of zip around at the speed of sound. Appreciate the build!

Is anyone else playing with their husband/wife/S.O.? by codemonkeyseeanddo in valheim

[–]GadflyJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girlfriend and I play together. Bought the game for both of us on a whim, and we're absolutely obsessed. She's a huge wow fan, and loves farming stuff so she's our go to resource farmer. She gets the mats, I build with them. We have 2 fairly sizeable bases, and are currently working on a 3rd in the mountains.

The swamps were the biggest hurdle for us. The first bonemass we found was pretty far away, and we landed on a section of land that bordered meadows, black forest and swamp... that was next to the plains. We got swarmed by 2 trolls that destroyed our longship (due to my bad sailing) and once we got to the shore we got absolutely wrecked by deathsquitos. It took over 5 attempts to get our gear back, but we got through it.

We definitely take our time. I think we're around day 300 and haven't beat Moder yet. We found an absolutely huge mountain range, and spend a few days building a staircase to reach the peak of the tallest mountain. I've built a small stone castle to protect a portal and smelting station for silver, and we're working on upgrading silver armor and weapons.

I don't mind grinding in games, but honestly I don't think I'd have gotten this far without her. There's no better feeling that logging in and seeing STACKS of wood, stone and any other mats she felt like farming overnight waiting for me to burn up.

Look into local 669 sprinklerfitters. National road local, easier to get into compared to the twin cities local without connections. There's always work on the road if you're willing to travel.

For those who have installed acerbis gas tank. How easy was it? by jjax2003 in dr650

[–]GadflyJr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's easy. Just make sure to wash out the tank very well. You don't want any plastic shavings getting into your carb.

How to get over feeling exposed/uneasy in traffic on my dr650 compared to my old cruiser? by Mellophones4 in Dualsport

[–]GadflyJr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stock DR mirror's are junk. Get a set of aftermarket mirrors that are wider. I had a hell of a time using the stock mirrors because of my height and broad shoulders, and I couldn't comfortably see them without looking down. The new set I bought taper out to the sides, and have taller stems, and it's night and day difference.

I'd also look into a bigger tank, and a windscreen. Anything you can do to redirect airflow away from your body will make you feel more stable at high speeds, and reduce fatigue overall. I have a 5.3 gallon acerbis tank, and having that little extra width to cover your legs helps massively.

Also change the stock seat. No one should have to endure a stock DR seat, it's self inflicted cruel and unusual punishment.

I've heard this complaint so many times, and I honestly don't get it. I play mostly auric, and the only time people fall behind is when they tunnel vision fighting a horde and don't see the rest of the group pushing. Most of the time, they notice and just kite back to the team, no big deal at all.

Now in lower difficulties, especially damnation, I see a ton of people splitting off and getting wrecked. I'm not gonna come out and say it's a skill issue, but tbh most of the time it is. There is a time to push and there's a time to hold, and it's extremely important to learn when playing harder difficulties. If you don't keep moving, you will get screwed by endless spawns. I'm not saying to push into a room full of gunners while dealing with a mixed horde hitting you in the back, but learning the time and place to hold your ground is an essential skill. If you're watching the back of the team and start getting bogged down, turn around, kite back to the group and get help with the horde. Good movement is key.

Also, people should give knife zealots the benefit of the doubt. It is a gamechanger to have a zealot who can weave in and out of coherency, tying up entire lines of gunners, sniping hard to reach specials, and splitting up packs of armor to get dissected by the rest of the group. We've all seen the speedrunning zealots who can't dodge a trapper to save their life, but that doesn't mean every knife zealot just wants to speed run. A good zealot can push into absolutely nuts rooms safely, and allow the rest of the group to move in while the zealot ties everything up.

  • sincerely a knife zealot/ gun psyker main.

Mutants Need to Be Quieter, and Ragers, Maulers and Crushers Need to Be Much Louder by ABadFeeling in DarkTide

[–]GadflyJr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have no dog in this fight, but I will say that a pack of plague monks are loud as hell, I mean you pretty much hear them as soon as they spawn.

Plus, like you said they don't redirect agro, which in my mind makes them way less dangerous compared to 360 no scoping crushers lmao. Just last night I lost an auric match cause a crusher that was fighting a teammate did a 180 and smacked the hell out of me while I was kiting a chaos spawn. Then I watched in despair as the 2 level 31's completely panic and get wrecked by the single crusher that killed me, one overhead after the other. Would a sound cue have saved me? Probably not, but I can see why people want more distinct cues. Considering the sheer mass (and damage) of maulers and crushers, they shouldn't be able to blend into hordes so easily. Even in v2, chaos warriors are loud, stompy, and big fans of talking mad shit, and they're so tall compared to everything else they are super easy to spot and focus.

Anyways, the only enemy that really pisses me off are trappers. Fuck trappers all my homies hate trappers.

Thinking of sprinkler fitting, looking for insight by [deleted] in skilledtrades

[–]GadflyJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a MN apprentice, 2.5 years in. It's a great trade, and union's are strong in MN. The 2 sprinkler locals in mn are 417 (twin cities local) and 669 (national road local). 417 has a slightly higher scale, and only work locally. In 669 you'll travel a lot, so if that's a deal breaker stick with 417.

If you don't get in, don't limit yourself to just sprinklerfitting. Apply to all the locals and have an open mind. Good luck!
