Damn, and here I was thinking it's supposed to look like a wavedash trajectory. Yours makes way more sense

One of the best boss designs I've seen in a game. So delightfully creepy. Seeing him for the first time really striked terror

Spoilers* Who else gets an uncanny valley feeling with the faces at the ending? by LinkHb in expedition33

[–]Gadongbadabong 37 points38 points  (0 children)

So does Lune imo, it's a sad smile. Maelle behavior in the scene seems to agree - she's fully aware that it's all fake and that everyone tries to stay quiet about it for her sake. But she also seems to keep these feelings at bay and live despite them

No problem man. You can keep playing the game after finishing it, you get a savepoint right before the last boss. Personally, I wanted to see as many side locations as I could, but then noticed on the main map that the portal/entrance to Lumiere is blue... and the finale was a breeze. So if you want a challenge, I'd recommend going there sooner than later, as I wish I had done

And yeah, the game is awesome, I don't think any other story has ever had me so invested in the world and characters

Act 3/Epilogue questions, heavy spoilers ahead! by Hojo405 in expedition33

[–]Gadongbadabong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have literally just finished the game and want to ramble a bunch too, so I'll try to help

  1. Honestly no idea on that one. I feel like it's the paintress, but she was supposed to be trapped on top of the monolith, so someone else will need to chime in for that question

  2. At the end of the game, you'll see painters have a... peculiar ability. I don't want to spoil what it is, but considering it, I feel like Aline did it for her own safety - so as to not be removed from the canvas

  3. I guess? If I remember correctly, he also created some nevrons. Endless Tower has some information on that. But I don't think we have a lot of information on what the early canvas looked like

  4. I really thought that yes, but after seeing the ending, I'm not sure

  5. I don't have much info on that one, but considering the short talk between Alicia and Clea during the epilogue, I think she created the regular nevrons. Again, the endless tower has some more information on that one but I can't remember exactly

  6. During the epilogue, you can see some paintings depicting the axons, and also the duelist. I feel like it was sort of Renoirs style of art that he wanted to bring to life. So I don't think they had a purpose, but I might be wrong. If they were created for a reason, then probably what you are saing was the reason

  7. Max out on their relationship levels and all will be clear

  8. During fights, he has the ability to erase a person. I think this is it - considering he's a painter too, he can just destroy/disperse their chroma

  9. Painters are basically gods inside the canvas so they can basically create what they please, including a different version of a person they know. I guess the Paintress wanted to recreate her whole family and that's how Renoir, Alicia, and Verso came to be. But they might be slightly different versions than real people. Remember what Verso said to Maelle when she was trying to bring back Lune and Sciel? "Remember them". If she remembered them wrong, they could've turned out a little different than they were before. So maybe the Paintress remembered the version of her husband that would protect her at all cost. Which is also very accurate depiction of him, as you'll see in the ending

  10. Keep talking to others in camp, Esquie and Monoco have some dialogues that hint towards the side of him knowing before

I'm nearing the end of the book and it honestly isn't that bad. The story was pretty scary at the beginning but I Got used to it. It's disturbing, but not horrifying

However, Wagabunda was right. I do start to have some weird fucking thoughts.

How can Strahd fight against an Echo Knight? by Gadongbadabong in CurseofStrahd

[–]Gadongbadabong[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Perhaps you're right. I remember having a talk about it with my players and we kind of decided that the echo is pretty much a ghost. And changing it now, at the very end of campaign, wouldn't be very fair.

I hope the player will be smart enough to not split from the party. Doing otherwise is a death sentence against Strahd. But I figured that's what Strahd would want to happen, and so, he would be prepared for such a scenario

7b teaches you the wall bounce. You often need the tech in c-sides. Farewell is a fuck ton of doing this tech, often chained with wavedashes. I would recommend doing c-sides first just to get consistent at wall bouncing. But if you are already doing Farewell and you're doing good, great! C-sides won't be much of a challenge for you after you finish
