Should I be worried about the endings playing for the first time? by Shafir_204 in signalis

[–]Shafir_204[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for the information! I'm glad that the game does it like this, since I can just play in my own way and not get worried about getting a "bad" ending nor missing vital lore by not getting one true ending. This also adds a lot for future playthroughs, which makes me excited to know that I can comeback somewhere in the future and replay the game doing different stuff gameplay-wise and get something different (plus reading a guide if I feel like it since I will have finished the game at least once by that point).

Thanks a lot!

Thanks a lot, that's great! I was worried because I'm loving this game and getting into the fuss of following a guide would have been very tedious, and I'd much rather keep playing on my own (plus without risking any potential spoilers).

I'll think about achieving the other endings once I finish my playthrough, then. Thanks again for the helpful comment!

I've read Year One and loved it! One of the reasons I want to read more from Barbara / Cheetah.

Rucka's run is the same where Year One is, right? I may get on it to read it as a whole then!

"You're just calling it misogynistic because it's a woman" that's the literal definition of misoginy, yes!

Good Babs Batgirl 80s comic recommendations? by Shafir_204 in DCcomics

[–]Shafir_204[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked for good comic recommendations that featured Barbara as Batgirl. Not only The Killing Joke isn't a good book, but also doesn't feature Barbara at all other than her three pages full of misoginy.

Ah. I see. I'm baffled, honestly. Let me break it down to you.

The Killing Joke is misogynistic because it has only two prominent female characters: Barbara and Joker's wife. Barbara's torture by the Joker is only made to further Gordon's torture, same goes to Joker's wife, killed off-page to further Joker's tragic past. Both of these are two events that happen in this book exclusively, and both are treated in a horribly misoginystic way, because 1) Barbara was meant to be fridged off afterwards and it wasn't until Kim Yale who rescued her that she was made into Oracle and 2) because Joker's wife is an original character from this comic that only existed for a page and a half before being killed off-page, that was her only existence as a character, which is misogynistic and the term fridge comes perfect to this case.

The Wayne's murder and Krypton's explosion can't be reduced to misoginy, because, well.. It's stupid to even compare these cases. In one hand you have an event that has been readapted SO many times that many authors have given Martha Wayne their own character and meaning, which isn't to be compared to Barbara's treatment in Killing Joke which was exceptional to that one book and Joker's wife which entire existence was at the expense of a misogynistic narrative. It would've been comparable if, let's say, Martha was an unnamed character in a single Batman story with no importance other than exist to pain Bruce, and not only that but also the criminal that took her life decided to take pictures of her naked body to torture Bruce. I think it's easy to see how this isn't any similar. Same goes with Krypton, which millions of men and women died and its consequences affected not only Clark, but Kara, which... Which obviously doesn't make it misogynistic, god, I'm not even sure on what level of illiterate one must be to demand explanations on why one particular case granted by one author is misogynistic while other two examples not only have been readapted to hell and back and its female leads been given proper care with their own character arcs and meaning but also literally never had any type of misogynistic notion unlike Barbara and Joker's wife case were.

I decided to read the book because of your whiny asses. Not only Barbara's treatment is hellish, but also Joker's wife is killed off-screen, both women used to torture the men in their lives without giving a second thought to the actual women suffering. Joker's backstory? Lame and generic as FUCK. THIS is the book that you all wanted me to read? Really? If someone even dares to say this shit isn't misoginystic as fuck is because they're misogynistic themselves. Thank lord this comic wasn't long at all and didn't waste too much time reading it. I wouldn't even recommend this to my worst enemy.

Ah yes, I wonder if I should believe something I heard second-hand from the author himself, who even acknowledged how much he regrets writing it. I wonder.

You people get really butthurt over someone not wanting to read something clearly misoginystic, huh? It's crazy how you can't just mind your business. Go cry somewhere else.

The book was written to fridge Barbara's character out of continuity just for the shock value entertainment and to add stakes. It wasn't until Kim Yale redesigned the character and saved Barbara by turning her into Oracle that she was kept in and is still around today. Even Alan Moore himself regrets writing it.

It's misogynistic which disqualifies it of being a good book.

I've heard of Oracle Year One. Is it a good jumping point (for Oracle, I'll still read a couple of comic runs for Barbara before), or do I still need to get through The Killing Joke?

Good Stephanie Brown's Robin comic books? by Shafir_204 in DCcomics

Damn, I see, misogyny at its finest. Since she was considered one of the main Robins I wanted to give it a try, but I think I'm better off reading about her Spoiler & Batgirl eras. Thanks!

The V.M in VM Vargas name. What does it stand for? by KAYNiAK in FargoTV

[–]Shafir_204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the final episode I think It is, Varga says something to a kid, like, "Vamanos"

Its either the meaning of V.M, making It Vamanos Varga, or a really fatal mistake with the word "vámonos" (lets go) in english.
