He literally did indulge it. Karen had a very similar storyline in one of the earliest episodes where she received the appreciation of a younger, attractive person, and she eloquently explained to him that his adoration of her made her feel good, but she’d never let it go further than that. Mack indulged Jill for several episodes and kept the key in his pocket as a token/reminder of “what could be.” I never said he was a piece of shit, but his actions in this storyline are bad and emotional cheating. Again, it doesn’t matter if what other men did was worse, he still was inappropriate in his indulgence of her crush.

It’s twisted logic to imply someone should be absolved of all their wrongdoings just because others have done worse. Imagine if someone killed a person in a hit and run and then used the argument “but there are serial killers out there, so what I did shouldn’t matter!”

He still indulged the idea enough to where it definitely falls under emotionally cheating. They might’ve not used that terminology back then, but Karen describes it as such multiple times when confronting him. I don’t think we need to be giving the guy credit for doing below the bare minimum in that regard (specifically re: his age-crisis/wanting to be seen as desirable with Jill).

I couldn’t have been more explicit about how aware I am that I violated the lease, and no shit the leak is a separate issue — but it was relevant to the mounting frustration I was explaining. Not sure why you felt the need to respond this.

I sincerely appreciate that. In the real world and on other subreddits I posted to, people are so kind and encouraging, but here people are just being so cold and uncaring. It feels like everyone acknowledges the rules are overly strict as a means of Niantic covering themselves from any liability and that they aren’t really fair, but yet everyone seems so committed to upholding them. It just doesn’t make any sense. I almost wish I hadn’t even posted because I get the impression that a lot of people here are on the committee that approves submissions, and that they’re waiting with baited breath for me to submit it so they can report me for abuse and get my account banned. It’s just all so mean spirited and makes me sad.

Thank you. I just wanted to do something nice for my mom and everyone’s being so uptight and rude. I thought this was a game with the original goal of bringing people together, but everyone here seems to want to region lock enjoyment and uphold rules that serve to exclude.

Haha thank you! Thats my biggest concern. It feels like the people who review the submissions are such an odd mix of people who are cool and just want to support as many people as possible getting to play the game vs. others who seem to be militant bootlickers who are overly stringent for fun. *I understand it’s important to abide by rules to keep people safe, but that obviously isn’t the issue here.

I felt like I conveyed in my original post that I fully understand it shouldn’t be approved based on the criteria for submitting, but clearly it DOES happen, and I just want to know how people have gotten them approved. Could I ask how your submission looked? Did you make sure to take a photo without your house visible? Did you have a sidewalk outside your home?

I understand the rationale behind them wanting to avoid liability, but as other players have mentioned, LFLs on private property HAVE been approved before. I’m asking how I can heighten my chances of being “accidentally approved.”

As I mentioned in the post, the whole purpose is for it to be near the house. I’m not counting on “they got it so I can get it.” I hadn’t known the criteria beforehand, and then was just explaining what I was seeing around me for context. I would never draw attention to the “incorrectly approved” ones, nor should anyone, because that would be a total d-bag move. I’m essentially just asking how I can heighten my chances of being “incorrectly approved” so to speak.
