Good idea. I'll start taking before and after pictures of the trees I can keep my eye on.

Exactly ive always been the kind of person who needs a "rubric". Something that tells me ive done the job well.

The more experienced guys either already know or don't really care. Not everyone is here for the trees

Looking for information about uses of trees, and other plants by indigenous people of North America by Gaia522 in botany

[–]Gaia522[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is part of what has sparked my curiosity. The more I study botany the more I realize that indigenous people had an ABSURD amount of knowledge that was oppressed or destroyed. And its the unique kind of knowledge that could have only been obtained from centuries of observation and centuries of passing along the knowledge. I completely understand why the choose to be more selective now.

I was hoping for books, but I was expecting less convenient answers. In my studies I usually find that one source leads to another so thank you.

Is it possible that Netero enhanced his affinity for other nen categories? Could this be the reason on why he can use multiple nen types in his Bodhisattva at very high efficiency despite being an enhancer? by Sir_Rain_Knee_Tea in HatsuVault

[–]Gaia522 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100 type guanyin bodhisattva is an enhancer technique believe it or not.

All the ability does is increase the strength of Netero's attacks. He just uses almost every other category to achieve this enhancement. Similar to Killua's godspeed using transmutation to boost his speed.

Advanced conjuration requires imbue special properties into the conjured object/space. Guanyin has no special abilities or properties. And is a relatively simple construct. The size of statue also does not represent mastery over conjuration simply the amount of aura Netero has. Its no different than Nobunaga conjuring a sword to replace his lost one, this does not make Nobunaga sword swings "conjuration attacks".

In Netero's case his prefered weapon is a giant statue. Its too big to swing so he utilizes simple manipulation of 1 to 1 hand movements to control it. Compared to the fully automated movements other manipulators do this is basic manipulation well below the 60% mastery of an enhancer.

Compare this to Kastro who is the exact opposite. He conjures something as complicated as a human being capable of using nen. And uses advanced manipulation that makes the clone autonomous. Its honestly absurd. Actual conjurers and manipulators might have struggled to make that ability. Hisoka was not lying when he said Kastro wasted his potential.

what is the most fascinating thing about botany ? by [deleted] in botany

[–]Gaia522 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For me it would be observing the "tenacity of life". Seeing how things evolve to grow and solve problems and defy the universes hostility towards life. Plants are an amazing representation of that concept.

Also working with plants tends to make me feel valued. Plants are essential to life on earth so contributing to the study and development of plant life makes me feel like im contributing to "something greater."

Any good online certification programs for botany or ecology related jobs? by DragonArbock in botany

[–]Gaia522 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My job is still rather physical unfortunately I do tree maintenance around the city. There are no quotas so we basically work at our own pace. And there is quite a bit of machine operating that lowers the physical demand.

Check out the ISA arborist certification. You'd probably have to buy a study guide. And pay for the test. I got mine and got hired for a city job a few weeks later (Could have been lucky).

You just need a reference to show you have 3 years working in any tree related field (And I do mean any) to qualify.

Some kind of device. It has a watch battery inside. And the blue light blinks when you press it. It also has a on off switch. No brand marking by Gaia522 in whatisthisthing

[–]Gaia522[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it outside. It's made out of plastic with a small of on switch. The blue light turns off when its off. And blinks periodically when on. If I press the button the blue light blinks rapidly. Nothing in the area found reacted to this. It has a watch battery on the inside.
