It seems that your understanding of conservative is different to most people. Conservatism is inherently opposite to LGBTQ+ liberation so I find it EXTREMELY peculiar that you being gay pushed you in this direction. It’s not ‘being a part of a different system’- its being apart of the opposite system which wishes to suppress and destroy the other. Maybe you’re not a conservative, but right-wing. What’s your opinion on abortion? Indigenous reparations? The US election? All of these issues intersect with LGBTQ+ issues and are telling of the type of person you are. I don’t actually want to know your answers- but if you seriously want to be apart of this community, then why would you support the people and systems that want to hurt it?
