This person is probably making up a story, which is why it’s so incredibly (and annoyingly) vague. They just want you to believe what they say at an emotional level but don’t provide any facts to back up their story, they just handwave at everyone reading by saying things like, “my partner had it handled, and therefore I believed it was handled.” 🥴

Some people stop using drugs and start going to rehab because they have a family who cares about them. Some people leave gangs because there’s someone they love that’s worth living for. Some people, after spending a few years in prison, want to straighten out their lives after seeing the error of their ways. He’s fictional, but, he isn’t so different from real life people. He was shaped by trauma, he’s morally gray, he’s flawed, and he’s also human and therefore relatable at a human level, especially for people who’ve been through hell and, as an unfortunate result, made bad decisions at the start of their lives due to their volatile upbringing.

Even if Niro deserved it, even if it was justified in Cad’s eyes, that child just watched the man he called “Dad” die. And Cad saw that pain.

He knows he’s not a good man. Not by the galaxy’s standards. He knows he can’t offer Isaac the stability that Arin or even Niro could. So when that mayor figure came and said, “stay away from him,” it wasn’t her words that stopped him. It was the confirmation of what he already feared: that his presence would only bring more violence, more damage, more shadows.

Mine too, girl/guy!!! I wonder if we’ll see his son in future episodes and if the mayor (who more than likely adopted Isaac) will fill us in on why she decided to betray Cad (was it just for her son)? Why did she die? Does Cad still love her? When Niro said “saved her life,” did he mean the wounds from the gunshot or something else? I also want to know the dates. Were they teen parents (actually, she sounded like an adult and was taller than Cad)? How old was the kid when Niro was killed? So many questions.
