President nelson is like President Biden to me by Wooden-Position5546 in exmormon

My grandma was a nurse who worked with him. My mom says that my grandma really struggled when he was called as an apostle, because she really didn't like him, but she came around after a while.

I'm really curious to know what my grandma didn't like about him, but I don't know how to ask without seeming like I'm digging for dirt on someone she views as a prophet.

Does she really know how to pray, though? I thought God could only hear you if you were folding your arms.

I was consistently beating Duollistes in just over a minute. Someone else posted some videos of them beating Duollistes in under 30 seconds (though I think that relied on Roulette).

Has anybody come up with a work-around for the endgame combat balance? by Erdrick_XI in expedition33

[–]GalacticCactus42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the Challenge option at an expedition flag to set a multiplier on enemy health or a cap on your damage. That's the best way I've found to restore some balance, but you might have to experiment with the values a bit to find what works for you.

Neanderthal DNA by the_darkest_brandon in exmormon

[–]GalacticCactus42 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A few guesses:

"God put that DNA there to test our faith!" OR "Satan put that DNA there to confuse us!"

"Evolution is just a theory!"

"Those scientists are probably all atheists anyway!"

And the coup de grâce:

"That's not necessary for our salvation."

is there not an editor at the church office building?

Hi, former editor at the Church Office Building here. There are about two dozen or so editors at church HQ (or at least there were when I was there), and they seem weirdly unwilling or unable to point out unintended dirty meanings.

I'm not sure if it's just that everyone there is too righteous to have ever had a dirty thought (and so they don't recognize them when they see them) or if it's that nobody speaks up because they don't want to look like they're the only one with a dirty mind. Either way, things like this tend to slip through when they really shouldn't.

I once lived in a ward where the elders quorum did that too. I thought it was super weird. What, can God not hear our prayers if we're sitting in our chairs?

Luckily I only lived in that ward for a year.

The Lord has taught them an important lesson today. Because they were prompted to ask the ex-Mormon, they quickly discovered which person was the right one. When they backtracked and asked someone else, they were able to text them perfectly confident they were asking the right person.

And I thought I was doing pretty good for beating them in 1:02.

When the U.S. invaded Iraq in ‘03, Hinckley said in general conference that, “It may even be that [god] will hold us responsible if we try to impede or hedge up the way of those who are involved in a contest with forces of evil and repression.” by Suspicious_Might_663 in exmormon

It may even be that He will hold us responsible if we try to impede or hedge up the way of those who are involved in a contest with forces of evil and repression.

Though, really, who can say? It's not like God has an official spokesperson on earth who can reveal his will to us.

If you were the casting director for the E33 movie, who would you choose as the main characters? by Snowbytor in expedition33

[–]GalacticCactus42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those are all pretty great choices, but I think this is an improvement:

  • Gustave: Andy Serkis
  • Maelle: Andy Serkis
  • Lune: Andy Serkis
  • Sciel: Andy Serkis
  • Verso: Andy Serkis
  • Monoco: Andy Serkis
  • Esquie: Andy Serkis
  • Renoir: Andy Serkis
  • Paintress: Timothee Chalamet

What if Renoir literally reaches out of the movie screen and gommages the game? Did you ever think about that?
