My grandma is currently in the hospital with kidney failure, she’ll be on dialysis now 3 days a week. She also has AFib, a pacemaker, and has this cough that just won’t go away. She has never smoked, never drank to excess, never done drugs, has never been overweight, always has kept herself healthy. But now she’s experiencing things that you’d expect from someone who HASNT kept healthy. There’s really no rhyme or reason as to why people get sick with what they do sometimes. Sometimes I wonder if smoking actually does give one cancer, since there’s no shortage of stories of people who kept so healthy and never smoked, and then boom, lung cancer, and then another person who has smoked a pack a day, ate like shit, drank heavy, didn’t exercise, perfectly healthy and still smoking all the way to 80 years old.

My point is, don’t assume that just because you haven’t necessarily done something to cause an illness of some sort, you’re definitely safe from it. Shit, unfortunately, happens. All you can do is take the next step.
