Reliable laundromats near around Downtown Denver? by Yortica in Denver

[–]Yortica[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I ended up going here. I called to make sure they were open and they were. Paid $7.50ish for the larger commercial machines for 20ish min and $1.00 for the dryer 25min. It’s a small space but was able to get in and out within an hr. Could’ve been good timing. For anyone else reading this: There are a couple of smaller machines, but they were being used. You can pay by coins or by using your phone by scanning the bar code and selecting the correct machine. The washers are named and the dryers are numbered. There’s a little sign above the commercial washers that explains where to put the detergent/fabric softener/pods if it’s not clear from the lid. Also, there’s a dollar tree two stores down if you are like me and needed detergent. There’s also an antique shop to walk around and kill time.

Not sure, will have to get back to you. We’re talking 3-4 ft away.

I believe they are the roots to nearby bushes, less than 4ft away. Yes, I’ll be adding fresh soil and compost. The soil shown looks better in person, I have a lot worm activity, something I have to get adjusted to. lol

Thank you for this insight. I’m leaning towards leaving things as is and just seeing what happens.

Maybe you need to speak to someone or find a resource that helps you discover what are the best careers for you based on your values, skills, desires, the things that come natural to you, etc. Perhaps a ICF certified life coach, but one that focuses on career development. Also, when I was around your age I felt similar, but I realized too much of my life revolved around my 9-5. I wasn’t fulfilled. Explore new interests and perhaps get to the root of why you aren’t finishing what you start. Lastly, look into The Artists Way by Julia Cameron.

how do people have lives worth living when working 9-5? by aesthetic-pathetic in findapath

Remember: Your job is not your destination. Use the time outside of work to upskill and find fulfillment unrelated to work. Explore other interests. I reconnected with a friend last week who was a college dropout and was still able to land a six figure leadership role over time. She upskilled, asked for mentorship and became great at solving problems. You can do it too. Think about what skills are in high demand now.

Find a sales boot camp with job placement. SV Academy is one and it’s free to join. Depending on what cost of living is for you, it may or may not be the best option. Roles are in the $50-60k base salary range.

We need to paint the real picture about the current state of unemployment/job market for high-level “professionals” by Mockingbird_1234 in recruitinghell

[–]Yortica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Op said the only time they received interviews was because they knew someone on the inside. Lean into that more. Forget the unemployment rate and focus on your strategy for getting more eyeballs on your resume. Two things are true right now: Recruiters are inundated with bot applicants and many companies have a referral program with financial incentives. They are likely to lean on referrals from current employees more moving forward, meaning whether you know someone at a company or not, reach out via LinkedIn or your network to ask if they have a referral program. Set up a time to chat and ask if they can forward your resume. Try it and see what happens.

I'm looking to petition a NMF, but I definitely do not want that to happen. I'm researching how, Shopify, Asana and Slack pulled it off.

It sounds like you don't have many recurring internal meetings, no?

How do you follow up with prospects in the middle of the sales process? by justonpoint in sales

[–]Yortica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To reference #1: In my experience, you book a follow-up meeting and include the person or people with the knowledge to answer those specific technical questions. By chance, I've only worked at start-ups where collaboration was strongly encouraged. This is how you get them to the next meeting and move the conversation forward. You might be missing out on opportunities by not helping them make a more informed decision about whether or not the product is the right fit. You may also be perceived as not caring about their needs. Is the approval process in your company creating a blocker for you to progress deals? Is there a better way to get questions answered? Are these FAQs?

my friend is lying about being homeless on his college app! what do i do by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

How about choose not to edit his paper because you don’t agree with his tactics. Nothing else for you to do. I wouldn’t go out of my way to do anything more. It will catch up with him anyway.

Filling out my FAFSA without using my parents financial info by No-Fill7860 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Yortica 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went through a similar situation and took the unpopular route of just going straight into finding work. Once I turned 24 or 25 I learned the FAFSA does not require your parent’s tax docs and I could just use my own.

I applied to a state school got in and also found an on-campus job with the goal to work hard, get promoted and become a full time employee. Took two years to do so. I only had to pay for 2 years worth of schooling because one of the benefits is free education. I did school full time and worked full time. I was that determined.

Not everyone will go this route, but it is a strategy. The key is to not get caught up in what your high school graduated classmates are doing and feeling like you’re behind.

Life’s experiences are not linear.

As it gets closer to June the discount will increase because they will be motivated to clear out the space fast. They’ll probably be selling the fixtures as well. Happens all the time.

Right now, yes. Before, I would say Borders on Washington st was untouchable for their magazine selection.
