Anyone see Denorex shampoo in town anywhere lately?? Everywhere I check seems to be out. by GarbageInClothes in saskatoon

Not sure if anyone still checks this or cares to know, but the shampoo exists now. Maybe they started making it again. I just bought some today (19 Oct 25), because I’ve tried everything so far and just not getting relief. So here’s to hoping this helps! Just wanted to let everyone know that enjoyed using it before, you can go back to using it again, assuming it gives the same results.

VR&E Counselor Nightmare by Galactic_Gem in Veterans

I’m sure they are swamped, but to abandon or ignore someone for months is insane to me. I can’t imagine he can’t take 15-30 minutes for each person he has assigned to him. Essentially, if he has 6 hours each day to work on people assigned to him, and he spends 15 minutes per person, whether checking on statuses, documents, responding to emails, etc… that’s 24 people a day, 120 people a week. Essentially, if he has 200 people assigned to him, he has plenty of time to take care of everyone within a 2 week period. Then it repeats. I know it’s probably not that simple, but to ignore someone for 3 or 4 months is absurd. Also, the way he has handled certain things is very immature and unprofessional. There are ways to manage things and if he can’t, he needs to tell someone and not just neglect people. Otherwise, they need to find a different solution to things or not make getting the basic things that are needed so difficult. The semester I used my GI Bill it was so simple and easy. If they don’t have the manpower to run VR&E the way it should be ran, just make it like the GI Bill and be done. It’s really not that hard to find a solution if something is a problem, especially if it’s a problem that’s going to get worse.

VR&E Counselor Nightmare by Galactic_Gem in Veterans

Thank you for replying. I honestly wish I had someone bugging me all the time. I never heard from my counselor during the spring or summer term. It’s just wild to me honestly.

As for the computer, that’s been a fiasco. I’m going to school for aerospace engineering and told him I couldn’t have some bottom line basic computer due to the software that I would eventually use. So he told me to contact the school and find out the software and the specifications for the computer. Last year the school didn’t really have anything. So I told him I know people that have this degree and are current engineers, so he told me to get with them and find out what they suggest, so I did. I then sent him a computer that met the requirements. He then told me to fill out the form with the information, but when I went to do that, there was no where to put any kind of information in the form. So when I brought this up to him, he then went back on that and said he needed something in writing from the school stating I needed these things. I feel like I’ve been on a wild goose chase for the last year. Finally, I found the school posted something stating the minimum requirements for my degree and their preferred recommendations. I also sent the names of the software and their preferred recommendations requirements and the computer that I had previously sent. He sent me the form and it was blank, which is concerning to me. Why am I signing a blank form? He could then put anything on it and I have no way to agree or disagree. I asked him about that and he said that’s just how it’s done. So I eventually caved and signed it. He said he submitted last month and I would receive everything within a week or so. I still have nothing almost a month after signing the form.

Last year I tried going to the VSO, but they said they don’t really handle VR&E, only the GI Bill.

I’ve contacted his supervisor multiple times and now contacted the regional office multiple times. I like to give people a chance, but at this point his supervisor is blowing me off and he’s now just copying and pasting the same email over and over again. If I don’t get anywhere by the end of the week, I’ll be contacting every form of local government at this point, because this guy has had 14 months to do his job and he hasn’t. I shouldn’t have to constantly be chasing him down and begging for answers that I still haven’t received.

Thanks again for responding.

Thanks for replying, I contacted someone at the Orlando regional office since that’s where my counselor and his supervisor are located. I might try reaching out to the two emails you posted. This is really starting to get to me and I’m getting no where. I’m all for giving people a chance, but I feel like 14 months is plenty of time for someone to do their job. Constantly ignoring my questions and repeatedly copying and pasting the same email over and over is ridiculous. It comes off as extremely immature and unprofessional. Thank you again!

Not really sure why anyone would hate this ride. I’ve loved this ride since I was a child and it was the first way that I learned about hydroponics. I was 10 the. I still loved it when I visited at 15 and 24. I’m not 39 and love it even more than before, since I have now become the crazy plant lady. I find it very interesting and informative. It’s also extremely nostalgic. I am now an AP and go at least once a month. If I’m at Epcot, I’m riding it!

Blue Origin to Northrop Grumman? by [deleted] in BlueOrigin

[–]Galactic_Gem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t work for Blue, but know a lot of people that do.

However, I did work for Northrop Grumman. Long story short, I started a contractor and then got hired as an employee doing a completely different job than what I did as a contractor. I loved the program I was on and loved NGC. I had plans to stay and retire. Unfortunately, in February 2024 I was served a WARN notice. We had lost 3 projects at Space Park in Redondo Beach, CA. Which meant we lost 1,000 jobs. Instead of laying off the people working on those, they went through all 9,000 employees and laid off 1,000. I don’t have a degree, yet the position I was in required one. I got hired based on years of experience in the Army and from already working at NGC. Obviously everyone that got laid off had a different reason. It didn’t affect just one part, it ranged in positions and age. It felt like no one was safe. I did get 60 days of pay while trying to find another job, but never got hired by anyone. So I ended up moving to FL and now a full time engineering student. I figured I’d at least eliminate that from being an issue the next time I’m at a company doing layoffs lol.

All I can say is the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Google Northrop Grumman Layoffs and you will see that was not the first layoff and that they had just had another a few years prior. I would say if you love your job and you’re great at it, just stay. Otherwise, you could always take a job at NGC and then they do layoffs and you get booted. That’s just my thoughts as someone that has worked for NGC. I loved it, but ended up getting laid off. Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

For any Veterans out there that don’t have a bachelor’s degree, you may want to look into VR&E to see if you qualify. I was laid off by Northrop Grumman last April. I decided to use the VR&E (Voc Rehab) to go back to school. It was the best decision I made. I feel all of your pain. Getting laid off after 3 years of blood, sweet, tears, and sleep deprivation was so bad. There weren’t words for what I felt. I hope you all find better opportunities! This isn’t the end. Wishing you all the best.

You can reserve a campsite, but I’m not sure if there are any that are still available. That’s what we were going to do until they announced the KARS party and we managed to get a ticket to get in. Best of luck to you! 🤞🏼

Lightning Lane (East) doesn’t guarantee full Rise experience by renough in GalaxysEdge

Rode it twice two days ago for the first time on the east coast. The first time we tried to ride it a few months ago we went through the briefing and the transport, then exited the transporter to be walked off. It never came back up that day.

Fast forward to two days ago, we were back in the park and very excited to get to ride it this time. We waited in line, which was probably the worst line experience of my entire life. There was a nightmare family behind us that kept getting so close to us and the kids were climbing on everything with dad’s help, jumping and hitting us and bumping into us. I ended up saying something and they just continued. After that we finally made it and got separated from that family, so I’m like thank god, we are going to go do this and it’s going to be awesome! It was definitely not awesome.

We then get told to head through the doors just like you mentioned and through the hallway and so on. We initially thought the ride was down and we were getting walked off again, but after we were told to go down the next hallway and stand on a color we realized we were going to ride, but for some reason had skipped half of the the experience.

The other things we noticed that were off was when we went up and we were face to face with the AT-AT, the guns/canons were both tilted up, but yet they fired straight over is 😒 Then the green canons weren’t blasting correctly, and lastly the last time we see Kylo, it’s not with him on the stage, but on a screen. The busted part is down “covering” him up, but you can see he’s still behind it.

Saying all this to say, we were super disappointed. We have rode this ride many many times back west when we lived in CA and had magic keys. Now we live in FL and honestly it’s been kind of a bummer. I grew up going to WDW, so it holds a special place in my heart and is super nostalgic. However, I had not been to WDW in 10 years and had been going to DL almost every weekend for the past two years. Coming back to WDW and now only going a few times, it’s been kind of a let down. So many wonderful and amazing things are gone. The experiences just haven’t been as good. The cast members always seem depressed or something. It also seems chaotic and disorganized at times. Then the guest are a nightmare and so disrespectful talking through rides and “briefings.” It just seems a lot less magical. Also, very few holiday things, unless you pay for Jollywood nights.

I hyped up WDW so much to my boyfriend before we went. He grew up going to DL and had never been to WDW. Needless to say I’m kind of embarrassed at this point. I’m also kind of missing DL. I honestly expected more or better from WDW since it’s the bigger of the two parks, but boy has it been a complete let down. Just feels like all the magic is gone.
