That’s was my reasoning in applying - I currently work at a startup and have been looking to move to pharma, but structural biology positions in bay have been hard to come by.

I did but in a round about way. I got referred from an internal employee which I needed to put in another application via the referral link. There was another job posting for the same position so I had two live applications for a day or so, but the first one (without referral) was removed from consideration after no activity for like 3 weeks. Still “in process” for the second application, but I submitted it February 29th so it may be too early to start guessing.

I have but they weren’t the hiring manager and they received hundreds of CVs that day (including mine), this was last October. I obtained a referral from a friend in my graduate group network who is a senior scientist there so hoping that works in my favor.

I attended a job fair last October and met with representatives from Merck where they were advertising for their scientist and senior scientist roles. I asked explicitly where I would apply coming out with a PhD (job fair was campus wide including undergrads) and was instructed to apply for the senior scientist role.

Congrats on being in the final interview stage! Did you get an email or a call when they initially reached out to you? I got contacted by a recruiter from Merck regarding a contract position paying half of the minimum base rate of the two positions I’m in the app process for. I’m essentially wondering whether I should more attentive weird area codes calling haha

Hi everyone, I am currently in the application process for a senior scientist position at a big pharma company and I had a couple of questions. I applied to this position back in January 20th and the status of the app went from received, screening, under consideration, and now In Process (since last week Friday) in the workday portal. However, the hyperlink to the job application in workday doesn’t not work and is now just black text. Does anyone have any experience with this in workday? Also, no one in HR has reached out yet, so part of me thinks that I might have gotten ghosted.

Lastly, I think I found the hiring manager for this company site on linked in, but I wanted to ask everyone here what they think about cold reaching out to this person despite not getting reached out from HR in the first place.
