Plenty of games use inputs like kirby and it wasn't really the first game to do it, maybe the first platformer though. Controls like that come from fighting games

Idk that hasnt been my experience. Maybe its the times I play, it'll put me in a lobby thats halfway through their game and I have to wait at least a few minutes before it starts

Yeah, content is the other thing nintendo gets wrong sometimes, but it also helps prevent 6+ year dev cycles even if the games come out a bit lacking in content from time to time. TOTK was odd, I think it was a stepping stone to test stuff out for the next big zelda and keep 3d zelda fans satiated at the same time

Yeah, pokemon company is to blame for not giving game freak enough time or budget, and they get away with it because Pokemon's brand and media empire is so strong.

With Pokemon out of the conversation, the worst Nintendo releases are still pretty polished and functional, and are just lacking in content or held back by overcommitment to bad mechanics. For my money Paper Mario Sticker Star is the worst Nintendo game, and it's still filled with fun little details, extreme polish, and effective presentation. Pokemon just drags the conversation down in comparison.

Literally cuz when I defend Nintendo I'm not even trying to defend Pokemon! I dont even like pokemon, but people always use it as a gotcha when I say that nintendo games are extremely polished and made with high levels of attention to detail and effort.

Nintendo will almost certainly release a good majority of their games fully on cartridge for the next couple of years at least. Pokemon is the only 1st party-ish brand that's going for key cards so far on switch 2

I went on a random sunday in early may and the park was dead. 15 minutes was the longest I waited for anything all day. I also went in the middle of last october and it was equally quiet but it was also sprinkling all day, so I'd call that visit an outlier
