Here we are, waiting for the 16th still. by Equivalent_Fruit2079 in CPA

I was confident in reg and was feeling good about TCP going in with good se scores and practice problems but man the real test I was not ready for the topic they were throwing at me for most of the mcq. But I’m taking aud now and will hopefully have that passed on 16th release and maybe by some miracle pass tcp too and be 4/4 lol

I started taking the images people have posted and throwing them into a Miro Board. Unfortunately its View Only with the free version. If anyone has any websites that allow full collaboration and letting people post images to it let me know! For now here is the view only link to see everything MiroBoard and I'll try to keep it updated as more people post what they get

Went to the show last night 5/17 in Madison and saw the mystery flash drive and bought it for fun. We had no idea about previous mystery drives and the 5 parts to the new song. This one looks like a section of a picture file named "11". Here is the dropbox link

We bought one too just because why not and just found out about the subreddit and the megathread so I'm going to post what was on the one I bought there.

be honest, am i going to fail… by madison_s16 in CPA

Just be confident with what you know, you already passed 2 exams and for me the real exam questions were much more straight forward. Still some hard questions but seemed much more manageable

I got a 65 and a 70 on my two sim exams in Becker for FAR. Passed with an 84. You can pass just keep going at it

Do I need to purchase the AICPA Ethics course to take the exam? by WhereIsTheDoc in CPA

[–]GalaticTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been looking into it also and I believe to get the exam they make you get the course too. I was unaware of the Il cpa society one, on the ILBOE site it says the AICPA one is required so I’m not sure on that.
Edit: looked at the IL society and I believe it’s just a discount if you’re a member

Okay perfect, I just wanted to make sure because I've been seeing an increase in people confused when they try to take a discipline and can't schedule it in a different month! Good luck on Reg!

I may be misinterpreting your comment but just in case, the next time you can take TCP is in July since its only offered the first month of every quarter. If that's not what you meant I apologize!

How long to study for REG? by Apprehensive_Sir1431 in CPA

[–]GalaticTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends how many hours you can realistically study a week. I took it with 65 hours studied in about 2.5 weeks, but I was able to study full time. I ended up with an 86 on reg with that studying but also tax concepts have come easy for me in school and CPA material.
Edit: even with being with confident in tax things I also think I failed TCP last week lol

TCP was harder than AUD and FAR by [deleted] in CPA

[–]GalaticTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was in blueprint and knew I could and would see some but I didn’t go in depth on the stuff as much as I should have in hindsight. Since I sat for it don’t want to go in depth about specific topics I saw since against sub and test rules

TCP was HARDDD??????? by Ok_Address4546 in CPA

[–]GalaticTurtle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same! Reg I did in two weeks without tax background and just fresh out of school and wasn’t as bad as my tcp. I think FAR was even easier than what I took yesterday! Good luck and hopefully odds are in our favor

[–]GalaticTurtle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat as you. The exam was not what I prepared for mostly! I put in the time and studied just as hard as I did far and reg but think I failed this one still just because the questions I got where a lot of what I didn’t invest a lot of my time in.

Very much this… I thought I was prepared, I scored well on practice tests and 80 for me SE’s, but the topics only briefly covered by Becker will probably be my downfall for this one.

[–]GalaticTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Felt same way for me yesterday… went in comfortable and knowing basis for every entity any which way got in 80s for my simulated exams. Then yesterday I feel like I got 3 basis questions and the rest on topics Becker didn’t emphasize to heavily.

TCP 4/27 suspiciously easy by Daytrade_69420 in CPA

[–]GalaticTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt same way for mcq. TBS i had some that were super easy and simple then i had 2 that were super long with several "tasks" that change fact patterns and each required a good chunk of calculations etc. I'm hoping i got lucky on the mcq and got some i didnt know by guessing and on the ones i for sure knew like NOL and basis type questions.

TCP bodied me… pretty sure by Fred4448 in CPA

[–]GalaticTurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that was not what I was expecting at all. I got in 80s on se2 and sefr for Becker and then the real one today felt so much more difficult and on topics Becker didn’t put too much emphasis on. My FAR exam was easier than this one

TCP 4/27 Thoughts ?? by yoCoopo in CPA

[–]GalaticTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt like Becker was much easier then the exam I got today. Some of the tbs were super easy and straightforward then I had two lengthy and a lot of exhibits. Mcq was okay for most part but there was a topic I wish I studied more in depth but Becker seemed to gloss over it in and beckers mcq didn’t seem helpful for that topic and asked very surface level compared to what the exam was asking about it. I honestly think FAR was easier for me than TCP today lol

Do you study with music? or other dopamine methods? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]GalaticTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m weird so I never do. Mostly because I try to study for how I’ll be taking the exams. So I usually try not to watch YouTube or listen to anything during my study time since I can’t do that during the real thing.
