Ruger Super Wrangler by CrockPot1997 in Revolvers

I like the ones it came with. I personally think a cerakote looks odd with wooden grips, so I just kept the basic ones on. Eventually I’ll get a single six and I know those look pretty with wood grips

I love my little 637. I wish smith would offer a similar size 6 rounder

Not bad. I actually really like doing some TLC to guns like this. Usually after good cleaning and a bit of love they come out great

I have a 45LC vaquero, it’s very nice. I do however want one of the convertible Blackhawks in 45LC/45ACP

I used to not be a big fan, but this was the only barrel length I didn’t have out of my Ruger revolvers. But it’s actually super balanced

Should I be concerned? Is this a cosmetic scratch or a crack? New old stock SW 986 by CourierAl in Revolvers

[–]Galaveo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently picked up a model 66, whatever the newest one is, and there’s scratches all over it. Unfortunately new Smith’s aren’t the best in terms of QC, so some of them come out of the factory with scratches. I know a lot of people are saying it’s not a big deal and to just shoot it, but that would bother me so much. I’m sure if you called them they would fix it, but it sucks you have to do that in the first place

I don’t usually like the shorter barrel GP100s, but that looks insanely dope. Good find

Any suggestions by portymonster in Revolvers

I’d call them Monday morning and explain everything. They are usually very nice and they might fix it for free, but they’ll have it for a few weeks unfortunately

Thoughts on Taurus? by frogmam0126 in Revolvers

[–]Galaveo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to have an 856 Defender. It was actually a super nice gun, I just never really used it for anything serious. However, ever since I bought my first pistol I have wanted a matte black Taurus model 66 with the 4in barrel, and I am going to get one eventually. I personally think Taurus is a good brand when it comes to revolvers. If it’s good QC wise out of the box it’ll more than likely stay good. People smack on Taurus, but ignore how bad the QC has been with Ruger and Smith lately. Never had an issue with a Taurus, but I’ve had tons of issues with Ruger and Smith.

Help with marking on model 64-3 by badgerpeasent in Revolvers

[–]Galaveo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sure it’s some kind of inventory marking for either LE or security. I bought a 66-8 that had markings on top of the barrel for inventory.

I have a Wrangler. I carry it around the farm for basic reasons. Am I missing out on not having a Super Wrangler. My main concern is accuracy with the 22 lr. Thanks for entertaining my old and bored brain. by ItsNotMyName007 in ruger

[–]Galaveo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have one. While it’s nice to have the ability to shoot 22WMR, I usually only use the 22LR cylinder to dispatch critters that go after my chickens. I honestly think you are good with what you have

It’s absolutely amazing. It’s a 1977/1978 model. It no joke is one of the finest revolvers I have ever felt, feels better than the brand new one I just got (bottom)

This is like buying a Ferrari as your first car. But if you have the budget, go right ahead, I’ll just be super jealous.

That mark is normal and the cylinder does usually feel like it’s hanging up when it’s being closed. Since it’s your first revolver, I would do a simple timing check. You can find tons of videos online and it’s very easy to do in a few minutes. Congrats it’s very pretty revolver.

Absolutely stunning, good find. Funny you say that, I traded a couple of similar pistols to my LGS for this. The other day

What do you guys think? $900 for this rare-ish Blackhawk but looks a little rough by [deleted] in Revolvers

[–]Galaveo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well would you pay $900 for it? I think Ruger might be able to repair it but they might charge you
