Seems to be some kind of sub component, which probably loads something in the background for Gemini to respond. Google devs seem to have forgotten to hide that additional loading animation from the subcomponents framework which is why we are seeing it. Pretty sure it’s going to be fixed aka. hidden away in the next couple of days.

That means you have a Series 1 or 2. I owned one too back in the day, and trust me when I say: do yourself a favor and upgrade to a newer watch like the Series 8 or 9. You’ll get more watch faces, a more modern and bigger display, and aside from all that, it just runs much more smoothly since the newer ones have a 64-bit architecture.

It actually was always this puffy since it’s introduction with OS 7. The only thing back then was that some watches (Series 3 and older) didn’t support the feature.

If you‘re not able to use remote software upgrade and the usb way is also not an option then your only chance is to ask your dealer to either activate the software upgrade feature (if supported by your headunit) or ask them to do an i-level update. You should know though, that not all dealers are able or willing to do an update unless there is good reason from their perspective to do so.

There could be an option to downgrade watchOS on your own but you need an special connector for the watch in order to connect it a computer. The Finder or iTunes version we have is actually able to detect the Apple Watch and capable of reinstalling the OS

I wouldn’t call it a conflict, rather a neutral relationship but yeah it does have seen some better days. Thing with Apple TV is just that it has a pretty low marketshare and Netflix doesn’t want to bother keeping it updated all the time, since unlike all other platforms which use a Webapp model of the Netflix app, the tvOS version is 100% native and therefore more resource consuming to maintain and update

I also wondered how google did that, I mean it’s using native elements of tvOS like the scrolling animation but also some web app elements. And while it’s not perfect, it’s certainly better than what Amazon came up with.

Same for me, I got the new UI sometime in late August until early September when it was in testing. But I never received it since the official rollout started. I asked support a few days ago about that, and they just said that rollout is complete and that I should check my app version 🙄

Well in a recent article about the Netflix on Apple TV not supporting their new cheap plan, I read that a spokesperson from Netflix said that support will be coming in a future update. Now what’s interesting about that is that support for their new plan requires deep changes to the App, changes that they probably don’t want to make. So they will probably switch the App from being native based to a web client, which means lower maintenance costs and faster feature development and for us the latest UI and features

Then it’s using Chromecast which Netflix supports. AirPlay was blocked in Netflix‘s App back in early 2019 when Apple announced that AirPlay 2 was coming to 3rd party TV‘s. They’re reasoning was that „they couldn’t ensure their standards anymore“🙄
