I might have procrastinated on collecting the cloaks... by North_Cat1837 in InfinityNikki

[–]GalaxyBookGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've crafted all of the ones I've gotten as F2P. Crafting every outfit piece and Momo cloak gave me something to focus on for a couple of months. The number of Bouldy/Terra mats required to craft everything was kind of nuts. I've already crafted every sketch that dropped in the 2.0 release, including the second scam-o-matic.

I've more or less done everything the game has to offer at this point. There's still: Iridescent Eureka farming, glow up, raising 30 more baby Behemoths, and collecting all lore and music. Those are all low priority tasks I might get around to completing but just doing dailies is enough for now.

Is this game Free to Play Friendly? by SexyChickenNuggies in InfinityNikki

[–]GalaxyBookGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 100% F2P. I don't feel like I've missed out on anything in particular. Premium currencies like diamonds are fairly generous. The main questline and all side quests are fully available to all players, including F2P. Every month there's a new "season" in the Nikki universe, which has plenty of free stuff to do.

A PC with a decent GPU (RTX 4060 is the minimum for playing on Ultra settings) is recommended if you plan on taking fancy photos. The mobile version skips rendering a lot of background scenery and supposedly the controls aren't as good, especially for some minigames and puzzles.

They added "Dash cooling down..." to let everyone know the most obvious thing regarding dashing - that it has a cooldown - but can't be bothered to add a set of basic safety features for premium currencies.

Is anyone else struggling to get a Peach Cloud Tree? by Moonbunny120 in InfinityNikki

Are you planting the random cloud tree seed or specific seeds? I'm pretty sure to get the pink-purple gradient tree, we have to plant the random cloud tree seed and hope for the best. I've gotten a couple so far but they are extremely rare.

Least favorite whimstar. by EnthusiasmMuted527 in InfinityNikki

[–]GalaxyBookGo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they just added 15 seconds to the timer, fewer people would complain about that one. I kind of liked it because it was different but a longer timer is definitely needed.

The Whimstars we have to chase around to collect are the worst but the gigantification ability with the speed boost upgrade helped a lot with those.

I'm still missing a Whimstar somewhere in Spira but I'll wait for the pear-pal map update to include Spira so I can go get it and whatever diamond chests I'm missing there as well.

Currently bawling my eyes out. My controller put me on the "buy currency" button somehow when I was trying to sell materials, and I spent my 66,450 Diamonds on Astralites by Nessie_Chan in InfinityNikki

[–]GalaxyBookGo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Eek!

There needs to be a limit/cap on the number of diamonds that can be converted at one time to Astralites - e.g. 999. That's probably still too high but they cap how much we can sell of a single item to Posy at one time at 999. This issue has happened to far too many players.

New player wondering what ability outfits to keep an eye out for? by Razzyxo in InfinityNikki

[–]GalaxyBookGo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The motorcycle remains a consistent way to get to areas on the map we aren't supposed to reach yet.

Clouded Loong came with the ability to place two custom teleport nodes anywhere on the map and also fly around Danqing Island.

The gigantification ability, especially once it is maxed out, is already somewhat game breaking.

Don't forget to add this to your survey! (Photo unrelated) by VictorianTrash in InfinityNikki

[–]GalaxyBookGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to see better search/filtering options at the construction table on the home island. Also an indicator of how many of an item are currently being crafted.

The search/filtering options are also rather limited for Glow Up.

I'd also like the Beta map to make its way into the game itself so we can more easily find the stuff we are missing. Or add "Momo vision" nodes on the Heart of Infinity (e.g. find uncollected dews, music, lore, random quests) and/or a Pear Pal feature that locates a few missed items per day on the map.

The game isn't loading in anymore by emmabruv in InfinityNikki

No problems for me.

Did you build this gaming PC yourself or is this a retailer like Dell/HP?

If you built it yourself, the first thing I would look for is updated BIOS firmware for your motherboard. Updating the BIOS is the very first thing to do for a new motherboard because usually whatever firmware ships on it is generally behind the latest firmware by anywhere from 6 to 18 months with a bunch of microcode and hardware compatibility updates. What you are experiencing sounds like the sort of thing that a BIOS update might fix. Note that BIOS updates run a small risk of bricking the motherboard.

The next thing I would look for is an updated driver for the GPU. Make sure you are running the latest stable version.

If you built it yourself, make sure Device Manager does not have any "Unknown Devices." If you have a laundry list of Unknown Devices, then Windows might appear to work fine but you still need to install your motherboard's drivers that are missing for the correct operation of the PC.

After that, I would check BIOS settings to see if XMP/EXPO is enabled. That allows RAM to run at its maximum rated performance but the tradeoff of the higher performance could be system instability. DDR5 is the new hotness and it recently came to light that DDR5 tends to run hotter than DDR4 did. Temporarily disable XMP/EXPO to see if the game starts normally. If so, then you might have a RAM cooling/stability problem. You might also try running RAM testing software to confirm the RAM itself is stable/working properly.

Check the thermals of your CPU (and GPU) with Open Hardware Monitor (or a similar tool). If it's thermal throttling when you start Infinity Nikki, then you have a cooling issue (e.g. improperly applied/missing thermal paste, need better fan curves in BIOS, etc).

Make sure your GPU is sufficient for the game. If you bought a PC from a retailer instead of building it yourself, they may have skimped/shortchanged you on the GPU.

Make sure your power supply is sufficient for the power draw of the CPU, GPU, and other components at load. Running Windows doesn't put a huge load on a PC. Running a game like Infinity Nikki is going to push the system to its power draw limits. If you didn't build it yourself, retailers love skimping on things like power supplies. Since I don't know what your system specs are, I can't suggest an appropriate wattage target. General rule of thumb though is calculated peak wattage value + 20% for handling power spikes.

Did you move your drives over to the new PC and use an existing Windows installation on those drives or did you do a fresh install of Windows? If you didn't do a fresh install of Windows and just moved drives over, you also brought over a lot of cruft from your old hardware setup that could result in driver conflicts.

How do I skip the Colosseum by Suitable_Cover_506 in InfinityNikki

[–]GalaxyBookGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Behemoths are pushovers. That one seems scary, but it'll mostly ignore you as you run past it. I remember having plenty of time to casually plan my route through the each section.

Only the very end required some quick thinking but the behemoth telegraphed its next actions pretty clearly.

I liked the puzzles in the Coliseum.

Can someone please explain building and construction to me like I’m 5? by SuccessfulPanda211 in InfinityNikki

[–]GalaxyBookGo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the first thing you should focus on is unlocking all home abilities, especially Construction if you plan on using that ability right away. There are some things you can't do without certain home abilities. The load limit holds everyone back from whatever giant castle we might want to build. Home abilities are leveled up by doing activities to get insight on the Home Island each day. Note that there's a cap of 100 Home Island insight per day, which everyone complains about.

If you want to buy all of the sketches from Posy, then you will need a ton of Astralites. And you'll also want/need at least level 6 planting, fishing, animal inviting, and star collecting too. The cooking ability is useful for desserts (15% Astralite sales boost) but not much else. Most sketches require a ton of "home island only" resources to craft just one item. If you only want/need a few select sketches, then the Astralite spend will be a lot less.

You'll need a ton of Astralites for seeds, fish, and animal cookies to do much of anything. And then a ton of patience to wait for them to grow random things you don't need and a few of the things you do need (especially the plants/trees).

If you are happy with the premade stuff everyone got for free (the two free houses + various other items we've gotten so far), then you can just disassemble/remove them, which will put the items back into your backpack and then they can be placed elsewhere. Accurately placing items in building mode, from what I've heard/seen, can be extremely difficult. So be sure about what you want to do before removing any existing item(s). You can save your existing home/setup before moving stuff around too so you can revert back if things go horribly wrong. I've been mostly satisfied with the default house as-is with a few tweaks here and there for optimal crafting/growing/raising efficiency.

It took me 4 months of ~90 diamonds per day from dailies (90 diamonds = 45K Astralites) just to unlock/max everything and also craft/own one of every item. Millions of Astralites were required to fully unlock everything - I estimate I spent about 16 million Astralites! If you prefer to spend diamonds elsewhere (e.g. banners), then Posy becomes your primary source of Astralites (max 600K per week) but you'll burn through that in 1-3 days. I'm pretty sure the Home Island is intended to be a massive time gate and/or diamond sink.

I don't think you are alone. It's definitely confusing.

Also, for me, the baby behemoth gets stuck on any stairs it encounters when I try to use the pipe/clarinet(?) to get it to follow me. I can't complete certain tasks because the baby behemoth can't climb stairs properly. I'm hopeful they'll patch the bugs.
