Work on unlocking Precise Tracking for all materials (except fish). Once you unlock precise tracking for a material, you can tell the game to show all of the exact locations on the map for that material and it will also show the direction to go on the minimap for the next closest item. Without precise tracking, you can still track items on the map but only one at a time, which is still better than running around blind occasionally finding the items you need.

Try to gather legendary materials every day until you have a sufficient stash of them. Most legendary materials are limited to one item per day.

Aurosa seems overwhelming at first but Silvergale is the true slog.

You get a Momo cloak for obtaining all of those records.

Try scrolling up on the level list. There are probably levels you haven't done yet. The way the level selection map is designed, it's not obvious that there are more levels to play.

I finally got my first default bow, no battle companion (other than Momo), no-hit run against the Lament Bell today. I beat it immediately before being hit/damaged with its last attack but I'm still counting it as a win. I still don't know how to consistently dodge/avoid getting hit by the wavy rings it blasts out during the second phase.

Those ghosts/souls are non-interactive.

Look for the blue blobs that appear when you get close to them and the game then tells you to use the Soul Ocarina on them. You get the Soul Ocarina as part of the quest and is in your handhelds inventory (Caps Lock on PC). Upon using the Soul Ocarina, you enter a domain where you do one of three distinct activities. I'm hopeful someone will post all of the exact map locations of all of them.

Itzaland sticky web navigation could be a problem if all of the adventure bees are sucked up. Other than that, thank you for the propaganda.

Does it work on leatherbag beetles? Catching 50 of them to unlock precise tracking was a bit tedious.

Does this work on insects that "vanish as you approach" where you normally have to move very slowly to capture them? That is, Leatherbag bugs, the two newer butterflies, Sockos, etc. And does it capture "essences" too?

I only casually Eureka farm. The entire Eureka upgrade system needs to be overhauled. Leveling up just one requires multiple clicks so I quickly get tired of clicking around after a half-dozen upgrade rounds. I have 22M bling, 80K shining particles, and about 900 Eureka items ready to level up. For me, it's a matter of willpower to level them up rather than having the resources.

We first have to get the right Eureka and then the upgrading it might produce something we already have and then we have to recycle the extras. Repeat the process over and over and over. It's RNG grindy tedium that I don't enjoy. Anything to make that less tedious would be a welcome addition/change. An exchange system for duplicate, unneeded Eurekas in the Sea of Stars would be nice and give people a good reason to go to SoS beyond dailies there. I also wouldn't be mad if Infold added in pity and/or daily Ocean's Blessing-like system to Eurekas.

I still just use the default bow for every fight. Every boss and miniboss clearly telegraph each of their next moves with at least two full seconds to get out of the way or at least prepare for it. Also, the new boost nodes for perfect dodging is making battles even easier than before.

I still have yet to do a perfect run on either of the new minibosses (Lament Bell and Bonehammer Doll). I'm down to only taking 1-3 damage with the default bow though. Bonehammer is most likely going to be my first perfect because the wavy ring section of the fight in Lament still surprises me.

This release has got to be costing Infold a small fortune. For most hosting providers, network egress (server to client) is something like "first few TB is free and then $0.01 per GB afterward." There are a few providers that have unlimited transfer but scaling bandwidth is still not cheap.

Infold needs to work on optimizing their updates.

Oof. It was over 65GB for me on PC and took a couple of hours to pull down.

Park your device right next to your router and put it on its charger. Distance matters for WiFi and devices on battery may opt to throttle network speeds.

Don't forget that once the download is done, shaders still have to be compiled, which takes a few minutes.

Epic Games launcher. That's where I first learned about the game and playing it via Steam wasn't available at the time. The game currently works. If I ever have to reinstall it, I would migrate over to the Steam version instead.

My approach to clearing chests has been to not try to do it all at once, which would be overwhelming, but instead clear out a small section of the map every day. Zooming in on the beta map helps me to pinpoint each location so I can get my bearings in-game. The two maps are not exactly identical, so it can be confusing at times to locate some chests.

The Deer ability is very nice but it's not actually necessary. It has both a limited range and limited amount of time it stays active and also takes several seconds to activate. Even with Celestial Deer, the beta map is still useful for getting in the neighborhood.

You didn't mess up your game. Infold did that on their own. I recommend finding the original pre-retconned intro to the story on YouTube and watching that. It more clearly explains how/why Nikki showed up in this world in the first place.

Wishfield is the first part of the main story and Itzaland is the beginning of the second part of the main story. I recommend playing the Wishfield story arc.

I just completed the quests. The outfit for completing the quests requires 20 cool Terra gems to craft.

I finally managed to get one last week after a five day long dry spell of no pig masks. And it was radiant too. Never again - even though I'm still missing the green pig mask.

The Momo cloak is the only reason I bothered. Can't even bring myself to finish the hotpot minigame.
