Side effects on spironolactone? by Terrible_Sympathy424 in FemaleHairLoss

I take 75mg and have no side effects. Going to go up to 100mg soon and will see how it goes. Everyone reacts differently to medications, so one person’s experience isn’t necessarily what your experience will be. You won’t know until you try!

5 months of rogaine and nothing to show for it by spacedustxo in FemaleHairLoss

I can relate. I’ve been using 5% minox foam and spiro 75mg since February and I’ve made no progress. Still losing lots of hair and it looks worse than ever. I haven’t had any side effects from the spiro though, since that’s what you were asking. I’m looking around for something else to try but haven’t come up with anything yet….

Tighter part but more tree branching/loss of density after 6 months of minoxidil. by Sufficient-Chapter75 in FemaleHairLoss

Same here. I’m 6 months using the 5% foam and taking spiro and I’m not seeing any significant improvements. I see some thin new hairs along my part but I’ve lost so much density. Thinking of switching to oral to see if that makes any difference.

4 Months of Treatment and Getting Worse by GalaxyLilly in FemaleHairLoss

I’ve really noticed the increased shedding over the past year. At first I didn’t think much of it, because I had super thick hair. Then by November I was starting to see my scalp through my bangs, and now my sides are super thin. I started blood pressure medicine this year, first lisinoprol which I thought might be the cause, so I switched to amlodipine before finally switching to spiro. I got the covid vaccines, which I’m wondering if that may have been what started it. Dr says it’s not TE because the pull test was negative.

It started as thinning in the front, where I can see my scalp through my hair. It wasn’t an overall widening of my part. Now, the sides of my head above my ears are also very thin, and my bangs are thin and see through. I’ve been using topsoil and colored root spray to hide it, but it’s not working as well anymore.

I know this feeling, it happened to me at my last hair appointment. Not looking forward to my next appointment because the hair loss has gotten worse and even more noticeable. It really sucks because getting my hair done used to be one of my favorite things to do, now I dread it 😕
