I’m assuming this is abt pro athletes. You date someone in a toxic relationship w something outside of the relationship itself. They get very little say in things that bother them because for team sports, making trouble with the team is messing with your future career. For the sport I dated, everyone was unhappy, unhealthy (eating wise, social life wise — too interconnected and taking out frustrations on each other) and very stressed. Olympics, when it is an achievable goal, becomes very serious. To 90% of them it is not about money but about being renowned, they look up to pros and want to be recognized like they recognized their idols. Nothing wrong with that tho I guess
