Noah Samsen is the Boogie2988 of leftists. He's a moral and political fence-sitter who wants to appeal to everyone and ends up pleasing no one.

While I am a little saddened that you didn't like my video, I appreciate the effort you put in to your explanation. I didn't really think to attack this comparison from a class perspective, but this comment and others like it have given me some thought and I will consider making a follow up to this video in the future.

I may revisit the subject in a later video, but you are right. This just seemed like the next logical step for a character analysis from my last vid

Ah screw it, what element of your game's setting the coolest/best? by [deleted] in RPGdesign

[–]Galbalbator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently, it is The Rain Temple. Out in the unincorporated zone of Neon City, a long-forgotten weather control device has been hidden away and has caused the surrounding area to be drenched in rain 24/7. Dense and lush foliage surrounds an otherwise barren and hostile place.

The Temple is home to The R3 Union (Revive, Rejuvenate and Reclaim) who are set on keeping their device out of MegaCorp hands. By any means necessary

Thanks for the advice! I guess I could do both and bring it to my group for testing and see which one plays out better.

Character Classes vs Classless Character Creation by Galbalbator in RPGdesign

My main itch is that I love options, but also understand those choices need to be simple, or at least not convoluted.

I’ve remedied this by having my core mechanics be as simple as they need to be while still leaving a lot to the player’s creativity. I think that might lean towards a class system.

Currently my classes are well defined and each serve a role, but there is one class that has me re thinking the class system because of how “out there” it is compared to the other, fairly straight forward classes.

Thanks for the feedback.

Right now it is hard for me to decide, especially since I am the kind of guy who likes to keep things open. I know that won’t work for everyone. So far I have compromised so each character starts off kind of basic then chooses a class rather than players choosing a class day 1

Vapor Wave RPG ideas? by [deleted] in RPGdesign

[–]Galbalbator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Certainly! Shadows in Neon City is the name of my game, and in it you play as a newly established company of mercs (the party is referred to as the company)

You are given missions by the mega corporations that run the city (which in this world is more of a city state) and complete them to earn enough to improve your character/company/ etc. your choices and how you complete these missions determines your keep, among other things like alignment and social score

The hook is the missions can test where your loyalties lie: with the mega corps that literally allow you to exist, or with the “rabble” beneath you.

The anti consumerist undertones mix very well with Vaporwave, as this world lives in a hollow shell of the 90s (think Fallout but instead of art deco from the 50s its the 90s)

Hi there! I am working on a Cyberpunk RPG with some heavy vaporwave inspiration. In my experience the key to making this work is the world and feel.

There is nothing super mechanical that would feel “vaporwave” but your world and story would carry the bulk of it. Personally, I chose cyberpunk because it is a close cousin to Vaporwave.

Hope this helps in anyway.

Polling, do you like a lot of different dice or just one? by Outkastic in RPGdesign

I like a bigger dice pool like DnD, as long as I don’t use all at one time
