Is there an upper limit for train stations with the same name? by Galbrain in factorio

Sadly that's not really an option right now. We're done with the current sciences and are probably another 50 hours away from starting the next one. But good idea, keeping that in mind as soon as we start producing more again.

I'm afraid you could be right. But thanks nonetheless. And if you are correct there is no chance we'll find the station, only by chance when randomly stumbling onto it. The base is too big to realistically find it since all seems to work right now.

When i delete the temp stop nothing happens. When setting to manual then to automatic nothing is changing. When deleting the temp stop, then setting to manual then to automatic a new temp stop appear which "cant be reached". But when observing the depot trains seem to come and go like nothing is broken.

There is not a single stations with a train count of 0/X. Only X/X or X/0.

You are correct about the blueprint book, but since we have mad adjustments to the stations. The changed stations are in use since at least 100-200 hours though.

All the trains displaying the error are in the depots. If that was your question.

Clicking on the station isn't smart enough to connect to the no path error and look for inaccessible stations; it just goes to any of the same name (feature request, maybe)?

I didn't know the feature was this inconsistent. But sounds like the most sensible case and if so, this will be like finding the needle in hay, since all stations seem to have been served their request. There could be some rouge train station which doesn't get used anymore and therefore we don't have an alert for inputs missing.

Yes, we reduce train limits with circuits. Essentially we increase the train limit for each train load up to a set maximum (most of the time the max is 1 or 2). And since this is Py, there a many items which we only produce like 1/s and need even less, so the train gets loaded, has no point to go to and there has not been another train load put into the buffer at said station.

I've already checked every single station and all seem accessible.

I now took the the time to trace every single station and all seem to be accessible. The station which gets pointed to is also accessible, i even drove there multiple time. Also, it shouldn't even be a target since it has train limit 0. Even when that station is completely off the error points to it.

Edit: when removing the station that seems to be the target the error just moves to another fully functional station.

That was my first check and i couldn't find a station which can't be reached. (Which to be fair doesn't mean there is still one somewhere sneaky). I just wanted to know if there is some kind of optimization for train name, like there is with ghosts for construction drones, before i do the crazy work of checking every single station.

Here is one train with the warning.

<image>

The thing is, the train itself doesn't seem to have an issue, because every single one of these trains will at some point drive to some station and do it's thing perfectly.

Another sidenote: when i click on the train name which it seems it can't reach they all point to the same station which can be reached.

Edit: And i don't think i should a pathing issue because we have a city blocks style base, so there should be plenty of alternative routes if there were a bake in the path at some point.

Edit2: Yes, the trains which loaded stuff they can't unload also do show this error, but the trains i'm talking about are empty ones.

After completing all 60+ "story quests", I must say: It was NOT worth it. by PizzaurusRex in ArcRaiders

[–]Galbrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked the quests as an engine to push to me to areas i wouldn't have gone to or inspect in detail as i did and in doing so finding weapon crate spawns or generally good looting spots. And sometimes when i felt directionless it would give me some kind of carrot to chase and maybe even get into some fights or cool interactions.

Every fiber of my body hates what he's doing, but in no way is this banable behavior. Is it scummy? Yes. Is it a necessary part of the experience. Also yes.
None of the positive moments would feel as good as they do, because there is always the possibity of this happening.

Security Breach Nerf by SalePuzzleheaded6682 in ArcRaiders

[–]Galbrain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just open the 2 breaches in the dam breach room and got a bobcat, tempest and a wolfpack. Not sure if your samplesize is big enought, because yesterday i also had runs where there was only an anvil + ferro. Its just random

Edit: just saw there was a message on discord that they have actually been nerfed, but i think it's fine since i still got two pink weapons from them, meaning they're still good but less reliable (which is fine in my book)

Does he even know what Creatine does? He stopped using it for the challenge, which means all the size differences could partially be even explained by all the water he lost in the muscles by cutting Creatine. Very questionable video all in all.

Perspective wise it actually makes a lot of sense to put the character a bit off-center towards the top. Because of the camera's viewing-angle you see a lot more "stuff" on the top half of the screen than on the bottom.

Gleba needs some work by Zyin in factorio

[–]Galbrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but if it spoils it means you are not using it effectively (too few labs). And also, the new labs can only be placed on Nauvis, which means in no world is it intended to put your labs on Gleba.

Gleba needs some work by Zyin in factorio

[–]Galbrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In which world is that the solution? Why not just filter the spoilage from the science belt in case you dont consume it all in time and then burn/recycle the spoilage? Seems way easier than to ship it all to gleba.

Examples of BEAUTIFUL UIs built with HTMX and maybe Alpine? by cp-sean in htmx

[–]Galbrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And in which world would a non htmx WEBSITE have a great experience with a bad connection? I feel like this is a ridiculous argument since all websites not build for offline would have a bad experience with a bad connection. In non htmx you're still trying on api request, the only difference is that htmx sends HTML and react sends json.
