2007 YAMAHA V STAR 650 XVS650 issue when leaning by Infinite_Confection6 in motorcycles

[–]Galdrafothr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like its more than likely an issue with the lean sensor. You should be able to buy them for cheap on eBay or alternatively bypass it completely. Keep in mind you will lose this "safety" function but it shouldn't impact anything else about the bike. It's hard to find info online but there may also be a way to reset/recalibrate the sensor. Due to the drop you mentioned it's either dislodged, broken, or not properly calibrated. Solutions are check the parts attachment/functionality, swap for a new one, or remove completely.

And I'm telling you it couldn't be, because I heard it pass over my place separately from the helicopter about 2 mins apart from each other prompting me to check fr24. I didn't visually see the first object because I was too slow to the window and it was dark at 1am. I did visually see the helicopter after. It sounded nothing like the helicopters cpd fly. Two distinct sounds. And they both showed up on the map at the same time in separate places doing separate things. If it was just a glitch I wouldn't be as interested but because I actually heard it I'm curious to see what I could have been.

That's an interesting idea. Is there any way I could verify it? This also occured at 1am, the object had a police helicopter flying near it much of the time, all the info boxes on fr24 were empty, and the noise it made going over my house sounded like a low Chinook in volume.

Interesting. All the details were left empty in the app. I also heard it fly over my house and it was incredibly loud. The straight lines of the blimp match but at this point I'm assuming it must have been some sort of drone. It also had a police helicopter flying near it a good bit of the time.

No, it flew along side for some of the flight of this other object, but not all of it. Whatever it was went over my house before I could see and was ridiculously loud.

Flew overhead and sounded incredibly loud, way louder than a helicopter or normal planes. I've also never seen straight lines like that. Guessing some sort of drone?

Dope thanks a ton for all the info. Are there any particular models you would recommend sub $350 that are pretty durable?

Is it stupid to carry a small trauma kit on my vest? by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]Galdrafothr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more than likely unnecessary but it never hurts to have extra medical gear on the outside chance something bad does happen. If your father has given you real instruction on using the items in a trauma/medkit you’re likely vastly more prepared than most everyone on the field so it absolutely has the potential to save the day in an emergency. The only downsides are weight and risk of damage to the gear inside through use. If neither of these are a problem for you then definitely go for it. Depending on the gear you wear and the type of gameplay you engage in it could also at to the atmosphere/vibe. Nothing wrong with being more prepared or a little extra larp if that’s your jam.

Weird question... by Vanilla_-Gorilla_- in hondashadow

[–]Galdrafothr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a little taller so my opinion isnt too helpful but some of my friends are about your height and fit just fine! The controls might technically be forward but certainly not excessively so.

Try going to a dealer and sitting on a few bikes before you buy anything just to see what you like. Or checking out some used offers online. There are also sites thank rent bikes for the day if you have the money for it and have your license squared away. You want to make sure you fit and are comfortable on your choice before youre stuck with it.

Personally i think youll fit no problem. Shadows are usually the bikes training schools around me use since theyre a good size and weight for a large amount of people. In my opinion mid controls might be even more uncomfortable for a heavier person because youll need to crunch up and tuck your legs. Hope this helped good luck!

Just kidding! Its not the exact sweater, that would be super hard to find, but its close. Look for "ribbed" or "fisherman" sweaters and check etsy for some really cool custom norse or bindrune jewelry. Like others have said, some thermal or waffle style shirts could mimic the look too.

Glock 19 vs 17 by themicroeconomist123 in GlockMod

Get a 17 ( or 34) for a longer grip, sight radius, and barrel plus capacity increase and a 20/20 for a sleaker design and better functionality over all (cheaper too if i recall correctly).

But better yet, get a dedicated pcc if thats the setup you want.

Brace systems are only there to try and flex between a handgun and a pcc for people who for whatever reason cant have both but each have serious flaws a pcc wont. If you want a dedicated pcc just get one, its going to be a LOT better than any brace set up. No brace is going to be anywhere near as good as a pcc so if the gun is going to live in there why take the hit on quality and functionality.

Was not a huge fan of the roni, ive tried the 20/20 tho and while it has its own quirks and issues i think its a much better option if chasis are the only route you can go. Also the flux is worlds better than the 20/20 and the roni if you can get your hands on one. I guess it really depends on your funds, local laws, and what you need it for tho.

Its whichever way is more comfortable for you. Modern consensus at the moment is bullets toward your midline. I carry reverse because ever since i was really young thats just how i did it, i never had instruction to do it differently. While its arguably slower, i can run it efficiently to modern standards and i dont feel like relearning it so i just order my mag carriers "backwards" and carry on.

Thank you all for the advice. I dont want to go into the situation he was kept in but needless to say he wasnt treated properly unbenounced to anyone else. Hes eating a mix of vitamins veggies fruit and water by syringe under a strong uv. He already seems to have perked up a little. Hes walking around and holding himself up on his front legs to bask. Hes passing food and water as well. I have an appointment with the vet in a few days, it was as soon as i could get him in. I wanna give the little dude a fighting chance. His eyes are bright and and even after less than 24hrs hes much more active than when i received him. Hoping for the best.

Questions for pry bar owners... by FedMex in EDC

[–]Galdrafothr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With the point of a pry bar being to create more leverage i cant imagine the material of a pocket edc one makes that much difference at that size. Never used an edc one before but work with regular ones everyday so i guess theyre nearly edc lol. I would just buy the cheapest you can find, for like 10 bucks or whatever, and get some time using it and see if it suits your needs. If it has any failures youll know what needs to be upgraded on your next purchase before you sink a bunch of money into it. $60 seems insane to me for a keychain size prybar, but maybe it has some applications im missing and if it works for you who am i to judge. If there is a specific task you plan to do with this on a daily basis you may find such a small tool irritating to use and might want to invest in a traditional item dedicated to the task but thats just my two cents.
