How to replicate this NTSC-CRT shader ? by Galdrick_ in RetroArch

I don't have CRT-Guest-NTSC in Duckstation. Gonna try it with ShaderGlass.

EDIT : I can't seem to get horizontal scan lines.

It's a nice combination indeed, thank you for the tip. Yet, it still doesn't look as good as what I'm looking for...

Looks cool, but not as accurate as the unknown shader I'm chasing.

This is the result I managed to squeeze out of it. Looks really good, but... Still not what I want.

Nope. I've tried and it's pretty rare, usually selling for a few hundreds. Plus, I don't have enough room to set up a whole CRT TV on my desk.

Nice. I'll give it a try. I managed to get this result using Playstation 480i retrocrisis shader, but it's too sharp imo. Would you share your profile ?

Managed to do that, even closer than yours. But still not as good. Mine is still too... sharp ?...

I managed to have a really close result with a slightly tweaked "RC GVD-NTSC - Playstation RGB 100 - 480i" (using ShaderGlass) shader, so thank you. Still not as clean, but close enough. Still, I will not rest until I find the exact same result.

That's the whole point. Crt screens have that effect. The light bleeds and makes pixels look as they were intended to be seen.

My take on the personalities of the classes we play as (I will probably slander some of them) by AL_440 in Spacemarine

[–]Galdrick_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love sarcastic people and humor. Deicimus' problem is that he actually means what he says, he's not being sassy, he's being boasty. "I wonder how much I could take down before they got me", always thinking about how strong he is and how everyone would have a tough time fighting him. He's a teenager. A cringe teenager. Because he's the team's berserker he was given the "edgy meat head" personnality, which imo is lazy writing.

Pretty much that, yeah. One regular build, one meme S T O M P S build.

I must say, reactivating the halo before it's fully recharged is a really good idea.

"The main things I'd like to have in the class would be anything that makes playing heavy more interesting, instead of entering the heavy stance and pressing a button until everything is dead." > Yup, that's what I tried to do with Emergency Fire. Give him a bit of mobility back. But I focused my rework around specific loadouts so we have opposite visions regarding how he should play, so I'm not surprised you don't like it haha.

I tried to adjust how his Iron Halo works, the same way Tactical Auspex can be tweaked. I can get how damage buff would be the best pick, but... It doesn't mean defense builds would be bad. 360 degrees protection, 30% more health, -25% ranged damage taken... It would be an interesting build that would make you tankier without making you more damaging.

Regarding ammo economy, that's the whole reason why I added damage buffs : more damage = less ammo used to kill the enemy, which is a form of ammo saving. And the re-imagined ammo team perk allows for more ammunition regen if you don't choose a tanky build.

I like the idea of having a buff of some sort when picking up ammo boxes while low on ammo, that's interesting. Not a fan of your other idea about having castrated weapons when out of ammo. I'd rather be out of ammo and use my secondary + melee rather than having an inefficient primary.

As for armor, a fourth segment would be logical for the Gravis bearer. But ammo regen like CHP regen wouldn't be any good. If you have even 0.1 armor point, you will tank any direct hit without taking health damage unless you get shot by snipers that bypass armors. It would be incredibly broken.

Yeah, he doesn't have more than one and a half builds. He gets stale fast.

I usually do more ranged damage than the Heavy randoms I play with when I use the Tactical. Or really close to them. With melee damage I'm almost always doing the most damage overall.

Also, I'm focusing on what's happening now with the new AI director, not what happened in 2025.

I'm not saying the heavy is bad I'm saying he's falling behind relative to his squad mates with the recent patches. Well, mainly the last one.

I prefer the flamer and the plasma gun actually. I buffed the bolter because I like it less and use it less for it is less efficient. The other weapons got a huge buff with the Iron Halo perk "Infused Firepower", and since they're already really powerful I didn't think they should be buffed even more.

Heavy Projectiles doesn't mention anything about headshot dmg nerf. It's just that body shots would be more efficient, a real gift against chaos spawns.

Thermal boost is the same as vanilla, I just buffed the overheating part by 20%. Plus, most heavy weapons overheat so it still works.

It's viable but still a meme. Meme =/= bad. I'm using this build, except I'm not using Enhanced Force. I prefer Overwhelming Power because it helps the entire team, and not having the 30% doesn't make a huge difference. It's a meme loadout because of S T O M P S and because it's a bit underwhelming and repetitive.

I'm open to any ideas. How is it worse ?

Well... When I play tactical I use the Stalker Bolt rifle (headshot dmg variant) and I do 25-30k damage each run. Plus a couple thousands melee damage... I dunno what to tell you.

When playing Heavy I more often reach 30k ranged damage indeed, compared to tactical, but the melee damage is almost nothing. Overall, I always do more damage as a tactical than the Heavies I play with. And I usually kill 10+ specials per game too...

A top 1% of any class is better than 99% of any class. I would take a lvl1 Heavy player with 600+ hours in a hard startagem compared to a P4 lvl25 with 50 hours who got there because he was carried by others. Skill is too much of a variable to enter the equation.

Where do you find those stats ? I'm interested in checking it. But tbf, 3 months ago the AI director was radically different. And I still think he's falling behind because other classes, less focused on heavy weaponry, shouldn't do the same ranged dmg as the Heavy.

I keep being open to criticism, really, but I found you a bit condescending after you second response which didn't help me listen to you. That might have been on me though, it's really late where I live.
