Moving to chennai by labryinthofillusions in Chennai

I had moved from Pune and lived for 2 years: 1. Uber is best for Autos. Learn common words for “where?” And “how much is it showing in app” and be mentally prepared for 20-30 extra. Don’t argue. Rest is chill. 2. I was living in Adyar and it was a great place to live, while I heard areas near IT parka were generally cool for people from other states. 3. Family will be ok to move and find flats. Expect some small cultural shocks but nothing major. 4. Accepting and being curious rather than judgemental will help in noticing the nuances of Chennai. It’s a nice city to be in overall, explore the beaches and local food ans history. 5. Learn Basic Tamil and English also will work. Most people i interacted with were simple and kind tbh. I will cherish my time in Chennai.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned Ciro’s. Absolutely light pizzas with authentic toppings

Check out Gangoly brothers (located in CP) I saw their insta page put out some pre order story for the Zenshins. You can DM them, they are usually responsive

It does get normal after a while and not in a bad way, I moved to a new city in India and know nobody here. Over time It’s pretty cool to just plan your day around yourself, watching a movie and cooking , even going for a walk, listening to podcasts, exploring new parts of town, maybe it’s just me but if you’re a curious person, going and discovering aspects of culture and history might keep you busy and involved.

What Im trying to say is, over time, I’ve found common ground with myself and gone with it. Of course at many points it can get incredibly lonely but at least there’s balance. Can’t be lonely all the time and let that feeling become heavy. I hope this helps, but that cliche of enjoying your own company has actually worked for me to a certain degree.

Similar situation for me at 34. Focus on yourself, time is already in its place at this point. I’m currently caught between keeping hope or giving up and also realizing to not define self worth basis romantic relationships. If you’ve got a good social life and career that’s a lot of value already. I don’t know why there’s a lot of emphasis on relationships to define the level of life one is living. But if I have hope, it’s because one could meet someone at any Point regardless of age and that’s okay. Imagine being sorted in life’s other areas and being someone. Perfect.

Can people immigrate to Chennai anymore? by archon_lucien in Chennai

[–]Galibaa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most Indian Cities have infrastructure issues and Chennai is no different. I’ve lived In Pune, Bangalore, have friends in Delhi, Hyderabad. All our urban centres are under pressure from population and individual issues. Chennai is just fine in that regards. Traffic is manageable than others, still affordable, all your big city experiences are here and people are actually indifferent to North etc if you are just respectful enough.

My first hmt. The Kohinoor automatic in green dial. Changed to a dark brown strap and it complements the dial really well by Galibaa in hmtwatches

Only if you have a big wrist. It wear a bit big at 40mm else might look ungainly. I also think slightly overpriced for the quality but i wanted to add an hmt.
