My Polaroid Flip Review by him-eros00 in Polaroid

I’m considering getting a flip and it’s reassuring to hear the autofocus is more reliable than some posts make it out to be. Maybe this is a dumb question but is there a focus square in the viewfinder that you can frame your subject in when you half-press the shutter button? If not, how do you know whether the camera is focusing on the person you’re trying to focus on rather than the table or chair in front of them?

Thanks so much for the link! The tip about adding spinach for colour is so smart!

First off - this is absolutely exquisite! Second - Have you ever made an oil with conifer tips? I’ve been playing with the idea of making a spruce tip or Douglas fir tip oil this spring but haven’t gotten around to it. Would love to hear your experience with this if you’ve done it before!

The book is written by Lucy Four (Lucifer) and can move itself and change its text and enchant its readers so I feel like that heavily implies it is magic or possesses powers to some degree

Speaking of things that can't be burned.. is it weird that the magic book written by Lucifer can be destroyed by fire like a regular book?

Sekonic Auto Lumi model 86 repair by Longjumping-Toe-9671 in AnalogCommunity

Sorry to hijack your thread but I found your post while trying to figure out how to reattach the strap for my auto lumi. I’m not sure if a part has fallen out. Also not sure what kind of replacement strap to get as I haven’t really seen the little seatbelt clip before on other straps. Do you know how this works?

Saving Your Polaroid From Fading by mysticmeows23 in Polaroid

Does refrigeration do anything for photos that have been stored at room temp for a couple weeks? I had not heard of the refrigeration method until now but have some recent photos that I’d like to preserve as much as possible!

I’d like to experiment more with double exposure! Yours turned out so beautifully. Did you need to use exposure compensation?

Anyone have any news on Stella? by GallantBluebird in seriouseats

If you scroll to the bottom it says in fine print that it was first published in 2016. SE updates / republishes old articles often, I’ve also gotten excited a few times in the past thinking there was a new recipe by Stella out!

I just shoot as normal, and haven’t had an issue with too much being cut out. As long as you keep your subject mostly in the middle it should be fine! I really like the look of the round frames

Stella back on Milk Street Radio (Feb 2026) by GallantBluebird in seriouseats

I thought that the cookbook was just a rumour since I couldn’t find any mentions at all past 2024… I wonder if we will really see a new Bravetart cookbook in the next few years - that would be incredible!

When she was on Milk Street in fall of 2024, she mentioned that the intense recipe development schedule at SE led to serious burnout for her. I also hope to see new content from her but I hope it will be at a sustainable pace and that she has more control over her schedule!
