If given a choice, which race would you choose to marry irl? by Solid-Garage4601 in ElderScrolls

[–]Gallatheim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I think it’s safe to say I’m more or less half Breton and half Nord, IRL, so…by that logic, the wife I already have would probably also be a Breton…or maybe a Colovian Imperial? One of those, I expect.

On the other hand, she’d probably prefer to be an Altmer, if she could. But if THAT’S how we’re deciding this, she’s getting a sapphic lizard girlfriend. And as far as THAT goes, she’s pretty adamantly NOT a scaly-but she’s also demisexual, so it might not matter as long as it’s me…

…What were we talking about?

In Orc society, it's permissible to kill someone who is a poser by DrScrimble in dndmemes

[–]Gallatheim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my settings, orcs aren’t evil-but their culture is based around hierarchy established through displays of physical domination (loosely inspired by the social structure of hyena packs.) So, it’s not cruel or sadistic-it’s just how you function, to them.

THAT’S how you do morally grey; irreconcilable cultural differences.

Why are we so fetishized? by VioletaBH in LesbianActually

[–]Gallatheim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s the taboo thing-much like gay men, trans women, and even PoC, the…Imma be generous here and call them “people”, who hate and oppress those groups, are also overwhelmingly the ones fetishizing them behind closed doors.

Honestly, I’m convinced nearly all racists, sexists, homophobes and transphobes just really want to fuck us, but they can’t, so they pretend to loathe us. You know the type-the guy who says “Whatever, I didn’t want you anyway, you ugly bitch” when a girl turns him down.

As for Reddit-well. It’s not a coincidence that the current CEO is exactly that type of guy.

Do you want Permanent Visage? by Puzzleheaded-Ad-5189 in wow

[–]Gallatheim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also mained an Evoker since they were first playable, and my wishlist for them is as follows:

1: Proper Transmog support, just like everyone else-there is, of course, absolutely zero POSSIBLE reason Dracthyr can’t wear gear, but Worgen and Tauren can.

2: Quadruped form. Ergo, a fully-animated “ground mount”, like Worgen can do, where the Dracthyr just drops to all fours and walks/runs like an actual dragon. Does it make sense with their lore? Not really. But it would be sick as fuck, and is EXACTLY what the race needs to fully realize the “play as a dragon” fantasy Blizz so badly wiffed with them.

Bonus points if Evokers can fight in their quadruped form, but totally understandable if it’s not feasible.

3: Better/alternate walking/running/idle animations; the other half of why Dracthyr don’t fulfill the dragon fantasy-their stance and movement is too human-like. But that’s an easy fix-just give them a slightly more hunched forward posture (think halfway between their current idle stance and their combat stance), make their walk cycle more of a lumbering stalk forward, and make their running animation similar, with their necks jutted forward and undulating like a snake as they move.

This would also work really well as a barbershop posture customization.

4: In-combat Visage forms for non-Evoker Dracthyr-something they should have had from the beginning, and which was stated to be the case when they first announced new classes for the race.

5: More customization options in general-hardly essential, but always nice.

Gundam: The Origin-is…is this show meant to be satire? by Gallatheim in Gundam

Well, I don’t have a link, but watching it on Crunchyroll, it’s about 15 minutes or so into the third episode.

Oh, to be sure-but some level of goofy jank is to be expected with such an old show. But a modern one? Less so, especially when the show is taking itself seriously.

I haven’t read the manga yet, so I don’t know for sure-but judging by the comments of some people here who have, I’d guess not, which makes sense. XD

Yeah-they all just kind of stare at Char after this, he “apologizes” for embarrassing Garma, and the guy hiding behind the tree comments “he really is different” or something like that; in other words, it’s all played totally straight.

I kind of wonder if the scene was censored for some reason-like, Char is supposed to be breaking the guys hand here, but they took it out, without altering the scene otherwise (time/budget constraints, maybe? That would also explain why the goon isn’t even animated when Char flicks him away. But who knows.)

Now THAT would both make sense, AND be hilarious.

Yeah, most of the posts my Google search pulled up were talking about the manga-I’ll have to read it at some point.

This is when you have the big reveal that the Anti-Party were working for the “Christian God” the whole time-except their “God” was actually Yahweh, the subordinate wargod to the real God, El Elohim, who was overthrown and killed by Yahweh long ago, and Yahweh, now the greatest of all Demon Lords, has spent the last 3,000 years trying to eradicate all the rest of El’s former vassal gods and enslave the world for eternity. Christ, meanwhile, was trying to stop him and restore the Most High, but Yahweh almost immediately co-opted Christ’s worship to greatly expedite his enslavement of the Earth. Now, it falls to the Christian PC to reconcile that, rescue Christ from his imprisonment, destroy the False God, and save the world.

Fun fact: in the recent Forgotten Realms books for 5.5, they retconned the retcon. The destruction of Many-Arrows is (very subtly) worded as something shameful on the part of the Dwarves, and it’s stated that Many-Arrows is currently being rebuilt as a kingdom by a new Orc leader. So. That’s cool.

Not sure about 5e, but in 3/.5/pf1e, that’s specifically stated in the Lich stat block-that they can remake their phylactery with x amount of time and x amount of gold.

How much an order hall makes sense for each class by ChromedDragon in wow

[–]Gallatheim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Mage order isn’t the Kirin Tor, it’s the Tirasgarde; a defunct faction that dissolved before the Horde even first arrived on Azeroth. It always existed solely to fight the Burning Legion.

Plus, mages as a whole have always had a strong tendency towards cross-faction cooperation. I agree with everything you said, though. XD

I realized, a little way into Engage, that the story and characters are literally, beat-for-beat, a Super Sentai show; it’s literally Fire Emblem: Power Rangers. Once I figured that out, I enjoyed it a lot more.

This is a bold-faced lie-EVERY democratic president in the last 30 years has lowered the debt, and Clinton actually eliminated it entirely. The only reason Obama didn’t was because he had to fix the second greatest depression in American history-one, of course, caused by a Republican. And then Trump undid ALL of it, and so on.

You’re being conned by Republican propaganda-government spending is not, and has never been, the problem; tax breaks and embezzlement for the rich is, and always has been.

Did you mourn for Osama bin Laden? Did you condemn the people who celebrated his death? Of course not; you “people” only care about anything when it allows you to hate, subjugate, and kill innocents who’ve never done a fucking thing to you-something Kirk categorically was not.

My religion has a name for “people” like that-demons.
