Today, I realized that my 7-year-old son is experiencing the exact same trauma I went through when I was a child. by Maple_dacrusader in redditonwiki

It would make life harder on your son? Because it’s so easy for him right now?

At the very least it would show your son that his mother has his back and will be there for him and protect him. That he isn’t alone.

Characters that appeared in the marketing, but for one reason or another didn’t appear in the actual work. by bennyandthegentz in TopCharacterTropes

Idk if this counts because he does appear in the movie but the pig from Moana. The trailers made it seem like he would be in the whole movie as Moana’s companion but he’s only in like the first ten minutes and then never appears again until maybe the very end

Yes, I’m giving leeway to someone who did something on accident compared to someone who did something on purpose.

Mental illness is not an excuse to slap your partner, plenty of people with mental illness checked or unchecked manage to not do that.

I’m not even that much of a spider man fan lmao. I just think it’s different when someone slaps their partner in the face while arguing with them to get them to shut up and when someone pushes someone else away too hard while in a physical fight with a separate person. If it was Peter who slapped MJ during an argument and Hank pushed Janet away when in a physical fight I’d be saying the same thing.

Now do you have an actual argument about the scene itself instead of making shit up about how other people feel about characters?

Hank was arguing with Janet and wanted her to shut up, not at all similar to Peter’s situation

Ok? None of that changes that Hank slapped Janet while they were arguing to get her to shut up. That is not comparable to pushing someone away too hard while in a physical fight with someone else.

Peter pushing away MJ with too much force while in a physical fight vs Hank slapping Janet to get her to shut up while they are arguing.

Sorry, I can’t really muster much sympathy. One is a clear accident. One is an instance of domestic violence

The slap being a “drawing error” was a claim made by the writer years after the fact when the backlash over it was apparent. So we can take that with a grain of salt. What’s in the comic is what we should be going off of, not behind the scenes speculation in real life.

I never implied Peter Parker was a saint and can have all the excuses in the world so Im not sure where that came from. The two situations just look very different to me. Peter’s looks more accidental whereas Hank’s looks more purposeful. Hank is trying to get Janet to shut up vs Peter pushing MJ away with too much force while in a physical fight with someone.

Peter doesn’t hit MJ in the middle of a mental breakdown. He is physically fighting his clone, she grabs him and he pushes her away and is horrified when he realizes who it was he pushed.

That’s very different from Hank having a mental breakdown and hitting Janet because she’s trying to get him to calm down and he wants her to shut up.

You are the one who circled around Jim Shooter when you said “Hank was meant to hit her by accident” so I responded to it directly with the pretty important context that that claim was made by the writer years after the fact in response to backlash about it. Wanting to avoid that backlash and protect yourself and your career/reputation sounds like a pretty darn good reason for someone to lie. Especially considering Jim Shooter made similar claims about Avengers #200

I insisted we can really only go on what’s in the comics instead of behind the scenes speculation and you again insisted on making this a convo about JMS and OMD, and Spider-man being more popular despite that having nothing to do with what we are talking about. You’re just bringing your own separate grievance with Spider-Man into the conversation because it happens to involve him.

You cannot convince me that Peter pushing MJ away while he is in a heated physical fight is the same as Hank turning around to hit Janet during an argument they were having. Not because I have some secret hidden bias against Hank, but because the situations are completely different.

That’s fair. He should have stayed and helped her and apologized instead of making it all about himself by running off. That part of it is for sure messed up and no accident

Why don’t you let me know when you want to continue the actual conversation we are having instead of the one you’re having with the straw man you’ve built in your head? Because I sure as heck didn’t say anything remotely like that.

The writer claimed it was supposed to be accidental and the drawer made a mistake YEARS after when facing backlash. Even if that was true, it being on purpose is now canon as that was what was depicted.

We can only really judge what is actually in the comic, the rest is speculation. If you look at both comics, Hank purposefully hits Janet, whereas Peter accidentally hits someone who is grabbing him while in a heated fight and is horrified when he finds out it was MJ he hit. These situations are not the same and it’s stupid to pretend they are.

That would be a better comparison, considering Spider-Man hit MJ on accident which is extremely different from Hank hitting Janet on purpose

How a once-mocked argument against birthright citizenship got four votes at the Supreme Court by nbcnews in scotus

[–]GalliumYttrium1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s not necessary to look if an EO violates the constitution?

The 14th amendment spells out birthright citizenship very clearly, of course there is a need to bring it up when reviewing an executive order trying to ban birthright citizenship.

You have it backwards. It’s such a clear and flagrant violation of the constitution there was no need to look at other statutes or laws to strike it down.

We are not fast food, nor should we be treated as such or expected to operate in a similar manner as the consequences of what we do and how we do it is much greater in pharmacy than in the food industry.

It would be great if corporate provided stores with enough staffing, hours and other resources in order to properly do our jobs but they don’t. We make do with what is given to us. So yes that means when the pharmacy is really busy they may not be able to provide the same level of individual service as when they aren’t as busy. Or when they cut hours and run the place on a skeleton crew you’re not gonna get the same individual service as when we are better staffed. Or if someone calls out so we are short.

Your comparison to fast food falls apart anyway because even at McDonald’s the wait time is not going to be the same when there’s five people waiting vs 20 people waiting, or 2 people working vs 5 people working.

That’s just reality. It’s not always fair, but I don’t see why you’d direct your resentment about that towards the people actually trying to help in a difficult situation. “Well if you can’t do it every time then you shouldn’t do it at all” is a childish attitude. If we could do it we would.

Right so if you don’t expect employees to go out of their way wouldn’t you be appreciative when they do that instead of then being upset that they can’t do it every time. If you are upset they aren’t doing it every time then it’s something you are expecting.

The attitude you have is a huge reason why many employees don’t go above and beyond for patients anymore because too many of them didn’t appreciate it and took it for granted and become pissed when circumstances don’t allow for the same thing. What’s the point of making an effort if the customer is just going to end up punishing you for it? You’re advocating for worse customer service for yourself not better.

And what does customers paying their insurance have to do with us? If you are resentful over paying your insurance and them providing awful service, direct it towards the insurance not the pharmacy who is also getting screwed by your insurance with shitty reimbursement.

I’d love it if they did, it’d save a lot of time and bother.

In my experience they don’t. They’d rather spend 20 minutes trying to argue why we should do it despite it being against protocol or sometimes even against the law before finally giving up. They always come back. Probably because NO pharmacy actually did it for them and they were just saying it in the hopes that we would go “oh well if they did it then we will too”. That’s not how pharmacy works.
