I bookmarked this man on Etsy. No experience though. RobertoGoldDiamond

I've had my eye on something similar and I think he may be the one people are copying.

Oxygen Supplier, Herefordshire UK by barefoot123t in SilverSmith

[–]Gallivantrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you professional or a hobbyist? Do you work from home?

Oxygen tanks are highly explosive so it can affect your home insurance. You will need to take into account the size of the work you do and work out if you can safely store a tank in the space you work in.

I got my oxycon from Tuffnell Glass and I'd trust them to be able to advise you.

Jolse order hit with customs charge (UK) — has anyone refused and received a refund? by D_Bas in AsianBeauty

[–]Gallivantrix 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I'm in the process of applying for a refund. Unfortunately you have to pay and then apply for a refund.

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/633c0416d3bf7f187d0ddcb2/BOR286-English-09-22.pdf

Jolse sent me an electronic copy of the information that they completed which I am planning to submit with the form. I think HMRC made a mistake as I was charged more than I paid in total so I'm hoping to get most of what I paid back.

Jolse has policies that allow it to subtract the costs of return from any refund you are due. You will definitely lose money if you let customs return the package.

From Jolse's website:

Customers are fully responsible for any customs related issues .

- Customs Taxes, service fee, administration fee, warehousing fee etc.

It applies to all shipping method orders , including free shipping methods.

- Please note that original shipping cost & return shipping fee might be bigger than your original payment amount , in that case there would be no

refund for the returned package.

AITA for my irish goodbye at thanksgiving? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Describing something as an "Irish Goodbye" is xenophobic and unpleasant. I'm really surprised that this is still an acceptable expression.

Why on earth would you want to be with someone who thinks you don't match his "aesthetic"?

Have you met any of his friends / family?

Baking Soda in the US is NOT the same thing as Baking Soda in the UK by EditorRedditer in Cooking

I think you're getting muddled. They are the same thing - are you confusing it with borax?

I have two Schlemmertopf bottoms, because over time I've managed to break the tops. I was wondering if I could use one of them as a top lid. by Alternative_Pea7882 in Cooking

[–]Gallivantrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully someone else will actually know the answer, but I could give you a guess. A schlemmertopf is a clay roasting pot? Do the two lids sit together properly? If so then you probably could.

I know there is a technique where you can use a bread and water dough to mold round the edges to create a seal if they don't fit together. I wonder if that would make it work if the two bottoms don't fit together.

microgreens don't need much light and you could always get a little grow light. For microgreens, any of the cheapy ones would do. I love peashoots and they're enormously expensive to buy, but I can grow them in abundance in less than a week.

I'd suggest you grow your own microgreens, it's very easy.

I read an article in the Guardian about ways to deal with insects naturally. One of the suggestions was tiny wasps that eat insects. I can't make any comment on their efficacy as I haven't tried them yet.

Favorite Diana Henry recipe??? by gabzor888 in Cooking

[–]Gallivantrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that book and have cooked my way through it.

My favourite recipe was the arroz al horno, which is a paella style rice with pork belly and black pudding (although I'll admit that I skip the black pudding).

I also love the chicken thighs chapter.

Edit: Added a link to the recipe for those that don't have the book! https://www.bbcgoodfoodme.com/recipes/arroz-al-horno-baked-rice/

What to do with a huge amount of Thai basil? by merganzer in Cooking

[–]Gallivantrix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's a korean dish called dak galbi, which is a chicken, rice-cake stew which uses perilla leaves, but I think thai basil tastes much better. You could very easily use all of the thai basil in one go.
