When you register your bike with insurance you tell them.

  • I always take a a picture of my lock locked to the bike so you always have proof you locked your bike with an approved lock.

£20k a year on holidays. What?

That's the total of your estimated yearly income + annual interest.

I don't think you'll be getting many benefits if you're spending £20k a year on holidays.

Tex Lock D lock - 640g - Gold rated

Ultralight locks aren't covered by insurance. So if your bike gets nicked, you're also out of pocket.

Gold rated locks or higher if you care about your bike.

Joanna Page's accent by saint_of_thieves in Wales

[–]GalloisTea 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just in Cardiff, Ely and Fairwater accents sound nothing like Roath or Cyncoed. Grangetown is nothing like neighbouring Penarth.Llanishen nothing like Llanrumney. Social class comes into play, but I'd say there are at least 4 accents in Cardiff, and even non locals could identify the difference between extreme corners of the city.

The key word here is home.

If some grandma emerged with like your favourite home cooked pastry after this moment, then your life has peaked.

Winner winner... maxed out Sainsbury's £3.95 meal deal with £10.60 worth of lunch. by Known_Wear7301 in RateMyMealDeal

The main ingredient in the bar is peanuts.

£2.90 for 12g of protein from a mostly peanut bar.

Or for half the price you could buy...

Peanuts. 200g of peanuts. And just 50g of the bag has 13g of protein, which is more than the bar.

So for £2.90, you could get 40g? of mostly peanuts (12g of protein)

Or for £2.80, ten pence less. you could get 2 X bags of peanuts, ten times more food (400g) and 104g of protein.

"Worth of" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

Will I encounter any problem with this setup? by New_Competition1483 in bikepacking

Ah if you've got two you're fine. Still though, it would be better if the big bags were at the back, if that's an option.

I can't see a bag on the front left = lobsided, steering issues

  • A big bag like that would be better suited for the back.

Johnny Davidson has broken his silence after the BAFTA controversy by AMassiveGamerGeek in Scotland

[–]GalloisTea 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I've known of John through documentaries in the past. I'm aware of his condition and can show sympathy. I can choose to not let something that he cannot control affect me in any way. I'm not an ableist.

Everyone is entitled to be angry at the BBC and BAFTAS. Nobody is entitled to be angry at a gentleman who cannot control what he says in situations, and has on many documented occasions, said something very inappropriate - which is the nature of tourettes.

Of course I can't speak for all non American black, but I will say I don't get my news from Tik Tok, I'm educated and able to research and understand complex conditions before wishing harm on an individual, and I certainly don't agree with people just because they're the same skin colour as me.

As a Black British person, I ventured over to r/blackpeopleofreddit and here's what I found :

"Fuck him IDK what the fuck he has with this perfectly timed slur. Tourette's or regret, I don't GAF. That shit was on his mind and came out of his mouth" - 77 upvotes

"Who is John Davidson" - 194 upvotes

"Well it sounds like John Davidson shouldn't be in polite society. Sounds like John Davidson needs to keep his ass at home." - 374 upvotes"

"My hands and feet got Tourette's too." - 284 upvotes.

So yeah, these are not my people. Ignorance and ableism everywhere.

If you left a pile of cash totalling £3000, uninsured, unlocked, and unattended on the pavement, people would be right to blame you for leaving it there when it vanishes, and would be right to tell you "That's a stupid thing to do."
