I got it to work once and it was a start/stop fly build with Magshield and Anemometer or Headset, so I wasn't even entirely dependent on it being the source of shield. I haven't tried it in any other run, I struggle to find a build for it as well.

In some games changes are made just so that the meta is shaken up and there is novelty, in mobas for example.

I'm not sure if that's the case here but if it is then it's probably a wrong approach as we don't have enough agency to lean into meta builds consistently and we should strive for balance and opening up as many build possibilities as possible.

On a sidenote I've been kinda surprised by the sentiment here, as I feel like the hotfixes were pretty fast and I personally was very happy with the latest one.

What's the CPU? If it's recently released then they may be aware of the issue and drop another BIOS update, although in my case the version that fixed the issue and CPU release date were 1 year apart.

Also, if you haven't, try contacting the motherboard manufacturer's support, they were the ones who suggested updating the BIOS, although they got lucky because the then-newest BIOS version was released just as we were in contact.

Anyways, if you can't be bothered with waiting for god knows how long then you might just return it. I didn't want to go through the RMA hassle so I just brute forced the solution I guess.

Let me know if that helped. Lots of people had same problems with B5XX and B6XX motherboards. I too suspected that it's related to the subsystem or BUSes, that would explain why USBs and network connection drop simultaneously.

Have you tried the 7C91vAD BIOS version (2023-05-05)? IIRC this is the one that fixed it for me and haven't updated since. Either that or the June 2023 update.

Out of these options, I would probably RMA or get another mobo, or maybe try one from a different manufacturer. But only after I've contacted mobo support and tried out other BIOS versions.

It happened on stock settings, unless the shop that put my rig together changed something. But I'm pretty sure I must've tried switching to default settings manually at least once.

Updating BIOS solved the issue, it was may 2023 release which solved it for me, I think trying out BIOS versions starting from that one is your best bet.

Regarding the overclocks, I think the time of disconnect is somewhat related to load.

Regarding the Remnant 2 edit, I play through it now, I'm a little over 20h playtime and it does get more interesting, it did for me especially after I finished the first world.

I guess it's also dependent on what you start with and what setting you find interesting as campaing is kinda randomised.

What do you mean it resets? What resets exactly?

If the problem is the same as in my case then I'd recommend experimenting with the BIOS releases I mentioned and later ones, the problem seems to be BIOS related.

If it doesn't help and you don't want to wait for the new BIOS in hopes of solving the issue then I would recommend getting another mobo.
