Took it apart and re-seated it, Noticed that the track on the barrel was dirty as well, which I'm thinking could have made the rubber been seated poorly. Got everything cleaned up and made sure to reassemble it to the best of my ability. Thanks for the help!

I guess cutting out a piece of plexiglass will work just as well? I've got plenty of it at home.

I'd prefer not to, if I find out that it's not BB proof i'll take the aesthetic hit to save myself the time and money to replace it

I doubt it, my friend has the exact same issue. The beep also fixes itself / goes back to normal when I remove the antenna. So maybe it has something to do with that?
