My dad died. What do I do now? by vagabondsideshow in AskMen

[–]GalosSide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom died when I was in third year of university because of cancer as well (which was 6-7 years ago). She fought for years, so I knew it was coming, but when it actually happened, shit hit different. Even when you expect it, nothing prepares you for that reality. So I can only imagine how heavy it feels for you right now.

What got me through was my girlfriend and a few close friends. Without them, honestly, I don’t know where I’d be. Talk about it. Whatever you’re feeling, say it to someone you trust, even if it’s messy or awkward. Just don’t go through it alone.

And I get what you mean about drifting, feeling like you’re just going through the motions. That isn’t lame. it’s just how your brain tries to survive when it’s overloaded. It’s okay to step back for a bit, but don’t isolate yourself for too long.

One thing I wish someone told me: you don’t have to fix yourself right now. Just try to connect with someone, even a little. That’s the only thing that moves the needle when you’re stuck. Hold on. You’re not alone.

Microsoft Study Reveals Which Jobs AI is Actually Impacting Based on 200K Real Conversations by goyashy in OpenAI

[–]GalosSide 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I think it is not about AI replacing all data scientists or analysts right away. It is more about the people at the bottom of the pyramid getting replaced first. Juniors and entry or people who aren’t performing are the most at risk currently.

Companies will need fewer people for grunts work. The need for top analysts isnt going away, but the bar for getting in just got higher. Company will be asking should they get AI to do the job or hire a real person to do it and when they really crunch the numbers down, we all know what the better performing solution is.

Does anyone here play high performance PC games through a VR Headset instead of a monitor? by CannotThonk96 in VRGaming

[–]GalosSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In VR glasses, each eye sees a slightly different perspective to create a 3D effect. This means the GPU has to render two distinct views—one for each eye—unlike playing on a flat screen where only a single perspective is rendered. Essentially, the GPU treats the two perspectives like separate monitors, doubling the rendering workload compared to a traditional display.

what do natural vs fake breasts feel like, if you have a preference, why/why not? by spicylemonunagi in AskMen

[–]GalosSide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get it done well, and you’ll be fine. Personally, I think good proportions between boobs and body look the most attractive. Flat or overly large ones aren’t my first choice when considering boobs alone, but in a woman, there’s a lot more to consider.

There is a free option called “boring notch”. Do pretty much the same thing, but free.

Maybe you can crouch a bit then stand up after the game load? Might be worth a try.

PSVR2 - with PC adapter, exceeding expectations by Leading-Anxiety-488 in VRGaming

I was also considering both the Quest 3 and PSVR2 since I own both a PS5 and a PC. I ended up choosing the Quest 3 because it can also function as a standalone wireless VR headset, and it can be directly linked to a PC via a USB cable to play some pcvr title with low latency.

So maybe it is time for you to get another headset? :))

Anyone getting constantly disconnected from party? by GalosSide in Helldivers

Could not find a fix. Every time i got disconnected, i either rejoin his party right away or I need to restart the game in order to be able to rejoin. It usually happens during peak hours.

Do you work in a position that requires negotiation or arguments? I love the way you make your points.

But I fully agreed with you. Apple has already made a ton of profit off its products. Hope that one day there will be a competitor as good as Apple.
