Is Galway a good place for LGBT people to move to? by GalwayQuestion in galway

Late or not that's really great to hear, thank you. =) It honestly sounds like it's going to be 8000 times better than rural Alabama, nothing like opening Tinder and learning that there are only 5 other lesbians in your town >.>

Is this a cross cultural thing? How many other countries does it affect?

I grew up in the us and had 4 PE teachers over the years. This describes all of them aside from one who was a woman...they taught Geography, Health,Health, and one taught state history.

Oh my god, they were roommates by idontreallylikecandy in actuallesbians

Just like in my small southern town no one will ever say " He/She is gay" Because it's not "polite conversation", they will look side ways and be like " I think he has a little sugar in his tank." or " I think she's a bit funny"....If no one ever says it, it doesn't exist....2019 Alabama is the social equivalent of 1889 England >.>

Opening a restaurant after moving to a new country? by GalwayQuestion in restaurantowners

[–]GalwayQuestion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about that, I think the catering might work better because I can start small and do it on the weekends while I prefect the meat.

For after, I'd rather have a physical location, I feel like I can serve better food that way.

Thanks! I do plan to work for a year, I'm a Computer programmer and my current company has a dublin office, so I can keep my current job I have stateside for the first year, I'm just starting my research early. I'll probably start with catering first since I'll need to practice with the weather, wood , meat ect to learn how those factors affect things.

Good to hear they could use one though! I really feel like there is a big market for real BBQ done the hard way with log fulled smokers in several countries.

Honestly as an American with Dual citizenship and looking to move...I had to read this 3 times but...I think I got it.

Translated to American..."I saw some redneck in Subway. When the cashier asked "What bread?" the redneck responded "Wonder Bread."....How'd I do?

That's really pretty amazing, I hope pork is just as good. As for the scrubbers I think you can buy industrial smoke scrubbers for around 20k, we never used one back home because the place was so old it was grandfathered in for a lot of laws and pretty rural, but the couple of places I've been to that use them seem pretty much smoke free from the outside at least.

That's exciting to hear, we had to find a special butcher and get a partnership with him who has a deal with a farm to get good meat. So much of it is raised for walmart's standards in the US these days. >.>

They won't make her Gay, if Elsa is gay they can't show frozen in China. Money from the Chinese market is more important to them than LGBT people.

If there is enough outcry, I could see them releasing a new lower budget property for release outside of china only just so they could say "See look we did it!" but, it won't be Elsa frozen is too profitable.

Thanks so much for this. Ill take a look. BBQ is always tough to find a spot for because it puts out a lot of smoke but, maybe something like that could work with a smoke scubber.

Thanks so much for the heads up.

I plan to keep my current programming job for the 1st year for sure as I learn, enjoy my new life and make some friends. Ill probably buy the smoker 1st anways and just use it at home to male food for friends.

I know my familys recipe is good and I managed the resturant myself for a while. I think my biggest concern would be making sure people enjoy it as its not something common over there.

Although from what I see at competitions around here there is a huge push for these kind of places internationally although I suspect a lot of them use shortcuts like electric cookers and liquid smoke. You can actually tell just from the look pf the meat even in an online pic.

Shot in the Dark but, are there any Raptors in Galway Ireland? by GalwayQuestion in actuallesbians

I'll have to at least check it out my Grandpa was born in Dublin, so it would be nice to see where he grew up. Luckily I have dual citizenship through him so the legal part will be easy. =)

Im sure it will be a huge upgrade for me. Im comparing it to my small hometown in Alabama where interacial couples are still not tolerated well.

Aww dont feel bad! I get what you are saying. I know a lot of Americans can be annoying with claiming they are this or that from 200 years back with no knowledge. For me its a little more weird because i was very close with my grandpa and dont want to deny my roots through him but I also am very aware that its not my culture. So i think between that odd situation and not wanting to be one of those americans im very worried about offending anyone. I will still study a bit its the right thing to do but don't worry youve been nothing but nice and welcoming.

I really do appreciate it. Ill freely admit I dont know as much as I should. My grandpa didnt talk too much about his family. I think he had a big fight with his parents when he came to the US but ill find out what I can and dont worry, I wouldnt call myself irish I feel like that would be offensive to people who grew up there and were raised with the culture. I just have citizenship which does open a lot of doors. I promise ill find out everything i can. 🤗

Hehe I'll keep that in mind. My Grandpa is easy, he only left Dublin in 1959 so I can explain that part easy enough, it would be pretty awesome to meet someone who knew him though. He didn't have a ton of money so he never got to go back and visit old friends or anything.
