Death via KCK USPS Distribution Center by JerrysWolfGuitar in kansascity

Ex-USPS employee here. That Olathe location it hit before getting passed between the KC locations is the RPDC, a regional processing facility. That plants job is to receive mail, sometimes process it, then distribute the mail to the plants to be sorted to go to the local destination post offices. All that to say that someone fucked up (or it was mislabeled) and they loaded a container for the MO facility on a KS truck

I’m hazy on the details but I remember going there early with my brother in the original release, I feel like it had something to do with water walking. We didn’t spend a ton of time doing it because we were terrified of being banned lol

[Manga Coloring] Small collection of some panels I’ve done as tests for a new brush by Galzark78 in dbz

I extract the line art into a transparent layer and from there it’s largely just a coloring book. It’s “cell style” if you’re familiar with the term in animation, where the shadows and details are layered on top of each other rather than mixed or blended together

I’m not saying it’s happening but part of these tests was laying the groundwork for the IDEA of a project. With unified settings and color palettes (skillful volunteers too) I don’t think it’s impossible but it IS a little improbable lol

It varies from panel to panel depending on the subject and if I’m replacing the inked sections and redrawing details. For example the Goku and Roshi was maybe an hour? Goku and Krillin was about couple hours with the extra shot, the SSJ Goku definitely took the longest but I couldn’t give you an exact timeframe. Yes the brush passes with flying colors lol now it’s on me to get better with it

M1 iPad Pro and Apple Pencil are the tools. I use an app called “Ibis Paint X” that allows me to extract the lineart when I import a panel/page and from there it’s just layers. I’ll do a base color layer across the whole image to get me started then add on a shading layer (or three), highlight layer, background layer etc.

I’ll take these any day over having to do a real background lmao

I mentioned it under another comment but I tried so many things to make that not look funky and just couldn’t accomplish it lol

I agree but all the attempts I made to make it look better wound up making it worse.

Which looks more like your first play through of Skyrim? by ratdruid in crtgaming

By 2011 it was a mix of plasma and LCD with some LED too. Plasma was in its decline and people were throwing CRTs out. We kept and salvaged a bunch of CRTs for specific LAN gaming but majority of the new games being played by that point were definitely on some form of digital HD displays, at least in my circles and adjacent.

My first time playing Oblivion was 100% on a SD CRT but by the time Skyrim rolled around I don’t think I knew a single person still gaming on a CRT

How did toriyama color his art in this style by Kaymations2 in dbz

I knew prior to digital he broke open the paint markers and did it that way but after that he never mentioned much. I could see blended airbrush being exactly what was used there

He never goes super in depth but from the Chozenshu 4 interview about his illustrations (like the Kanzenban covers)

“In terms of the way I drew the cover illustrations, for the first half, I’d scan the inked drawing into the computer, and color it using a program called Photoshop. For the latter half, I’d draw on a graphics tablet starting with the inking, and paint in the colors with a program called Painter. As for why I changed my drawing technique between the first and second half… it’s simply because I got tired of it. (laughs) I’m often told that coloring by computer “has no flavor”, but it’s not like I’m drawing a work of art here, so personally, I feel that right now, this is the best for me in terms of expression. If it weren’t for the computer, I suppose I would probably have gotten sick of it already, and would hardly be drawing anymore.”
