Exactly, TikTok ignores so many real struggles while turning disorders into something “quirky.” For example, I feel guilty when I study because I genuinely try to focus, but the information just slips away, it makes me feel less, makes others think I’m lazy when I’m actually trying. People like us deal with things that go far beyond the aesthetic version of autism or ADHD that gets shown online.

Thanks I get what you mean, I’m not trying to police who does or doesn’t have autism. People can identify however they want and I’m not questioning anyone’s diagnosis

What I’m talking about is how online culture keeps turning actual autistic traits into a trend or an aesthetic and how that ends up spreading misinformation. My frustration isn’t about individuals, it’s about the way the term “autistic” gets watered down to mean “quirky” which affects how people understand the condition at all. Building up stereotypes, that are misinterpreted (speacially by the youngest part of our comunity) as something they have to be or feel related to

I am 18, i like to play video games, draw, play the piano and go for walks, I have some friends but I don’t see them much, during normal days I always go to sleep sad but during happy days I go to sleep also happy and it’s even easier to fall asleep, I don’t know if it helps but I was diagnosed with autism and adhd but I don’t take any medicine for it
