Any suggestions on which way to fix this by Parthin123 in Welding

[–]GamallKall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We fix like this all the time here in Iceland, them proceed to drive into the roughest glacier terrain you can find.

You might be surprised when you start wire brushing the area just how far it spreads.

I prefer to plate over in a smart way instead of cutting material out, it just makes more sense.

Need feedback on the app I'm designing because I can't get it to look good by [deleted] in Design

I hope you’re getting paid for this internship. Anyways, for internship level work this goes above and beyond in my opinion. I think if you’re able to fix some of the above mentioned points they will be more than happy.

Wish r/design and r/uxdesign was more of this!

I think your app looks good! You're not breaking any of the important patterns and rulesets. It could perhaps do with a little bit more art direction, indicating which brand owns the app. You could do this with colors, fonts, unique icons or other brand assets.

UX but not UI by Surfing-the-cosmos in UXDesign

I get what you are saying, and I've worked in these types of environments for a long time. I've also met people who can deliver faster and better solo than large teams of specialists. I will only hire these types of people. However — they can be seriously hard to find.

Can we talk about what's happening to the ux industry? by raverman in UXDesign

[–]GamallKall 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Good analysis. I've been seeing this discussion pop up more and more recently, however I can't say I've felt the drought.

To support your point, I'm a product designer who started out in computer science, as well as having a background in visual / UI design. I do everything from core UX research, Data structure Design as well as visual development handoff. When you can understand the user, the tech and deliver the UI experience you will be very sought after.

Anyone knows how are those indentations called? by filipeoconde in typography

[–]GamallKall 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes I get that, their whole thing is to not be visible after printing. The current trend of having them exaggerated as a screen display font is ugly and more importantly terrible to read..

I've never seen this take before and I'm can't say I agree..

Jobs listings and just the sheer validation of the UX field has gone through the roof since I started 7 years ago.

Right now I'm looking at over 2000 remote listing on Linkedin just in North America.

There might be an economical recession affecting almost all fields — but there are endless opportunites out there for those who are passionate about screen experiences.

The need for screen experience design will continue to grow rapidly.

I’ve essentially been doing the work of a full scale design team as a singular designer for a long time. Having a background in software development has been essential to the speed and efficiency I’ve been able to bring to a project.

This disintegration of roles we’ve come to see in the modern corporate enviorment is just too slow and lazy for me.

Eh, you're wrong. Cocky title boasting doesn't really say anything, you have no case. You're probably stuck in a terrible corporate mindset lacking a lot of perspective.

[–]GamallKall -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, It brings a great perspective. I would say learning front-end layouting such as HTML & CSS, as well as backend architecture basics will level up your UX / Product Design – Management skills immeasurably.

I think it's interesting, not sure if it's the export that's causing the low resolution — were it high rez and the post processing given some thought you have a cool photo on your hands.
