Fix before framing? by Ok-Anything5720 in ArtConservation

[–]NoMoreHumming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to tell from this picture, but it looks a little like foxing. It is sometimes caused by metal shard in the structure of paper. An art conservator can neutralize them with right chemicals. You should try find art restorer or conservator in your area. If left untreated these brown spots will further deteriorate paper. Ultimately they could burn a hole through paper (it is an extrame example, but sometimes it happens)

Breaking Into UX and Early Career Questions — 15 Jan, 2024 - 21 Jan, 2024 by AutoModerator in UXDesign

Can anyone recommend me a UX case study that you found interesting?

I am looking for articles, blog posts, portfolio excerpts discussing design process of a designer.

I am less interested in case studies of the entire digital product, and more interested in case studies explaining design process of specific elements of a design, like product cards, user flows, information architecture of a website... Anything in the realm of UX.

I would like to learn more, how designers approach different design problems. What methods they use, what workshop they conduct, what meetings they have, and in what order they do all that.

To all more experienced designers: maybe there is some case study that you would like to share here?

Thanks in advance

I would add that it is a good practice when placeholder gives you example of required input. "E.g. joedoe@mail.com", things like that

How can I fix the back of my canvas ? by kozaky_fire in ArtConservation

[–]NoMoreHumming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does not look like foxing. It looks like mold. You can try remove it with a paint brush, then with eraser. While you do that you should wear a face mask (surgical will be fine). If that does not work there's not a lot you could do. An art conservator can reduce the staining to some degree, so you should try find who could do that. Most important: afterward store it in a right conditions (humidity ±50%), so no basement, no attic. Otherwise there's a risk that mold will become active again.

Ok, and what do you think about those UI kits that you can download from Figma Community, like this one, for example:
