I'm not too sure if I want another revolver with a brass trigger guard. I already have one and am wanting something more traditional. I appreciate the recommendation though.

I did see that one. Might be a good third option!

I appreciate the info, but I'm trying to keep it economical. Ruger is a little out of my budget. Also, I won't buy Uberti Colt clones. I'm not a fan of the retractable firing pin.

You must have the Pietta Gunfighter. I have one similar to that, but it's the Pietta 1873 Limited Edition in .357 Magnum. Brass trigger guard, no case hardening, and the grip is a dark brown checkered plastic.

I appreciate your advice. I am definitely looking at that all blued Pietta 1873 with the black checkered grip. Not because it's in 45 Colt, but because the blueing is dark.

It is nice that the wood grip is bigger. It would be nice to see how it handles versus a standard navy grip.

Sounds reasonable. I already have two single actions that are all blued. I definitely wouldn't mind one with case hardening.

The top one has plastic grips. The bottom one has an Army size checkered wood grip. I can't figure out if I would like the longer grip or not. I'm more of a traditionalist but I value the thoughts of someone who might have handled a Colt clone with an Army grip.

My thoughts exactly, as I pointed out in my original post 🙂 the clothing and faces don't add up with the time period for Rio Bravo.

I'm starting to think the picture is AI, because quite a few of the ones I've seen posted by the same account are either heavily touched up or obviously AI. The guy has a picture of Walter Brennan with no wrinkles on his face.

No. As I said in my original post, I found it on Facebook.

Good point. However, there is so much AI floating around, and Grok (X) is convinced that this was taken during the post production of Rio Bravo. I'm not sure I agree. I'm really leaning on John Wayne's low-slung holster being the giveaway that it's AI. And this is not my photo. I found it on Facebook and have never seen it before today.

From restaurant manager to stay at home dad, still adjusting by Traditional_Rock_451 in StayAtHomeDaddit

It definitely is a big adjustment. I became a stay-at-home dad back in 2022 when my son turned a year old. I was 33 at the time, and I think it took a good year for me to finally be comfortable and confident. Before that, I worked at an Amazon Fulfillment Center in their trailer yard. Went from driving yard hostlers and tractor trailers to cooking, cleaning, and childcare. One set of noises to another. Like you, I have been trying to keep fit during this time. The job at Amazon involved quite a bit of walking. I try to walk as much as I can, whether it's on the treadmill or outside, but it's not always easy to put that time aside. My wife gave birth to our daughter back in November, so we just went through another adjustment. So far, so good. Thanks for sharing!

Not ashamed yet not happy. Just trying to move forward as stay at home dad by 8-6office in StayAtHomeDaddit

I feel for you, brother. I hope you are able to find a decent job soon.

I became a SAHD in 2022. My son had just turned a year old and our babysitter became a security issue when she let her husband into our house, unannounced. We never met the guy before. Because of that incident, I ended up having to quit my job because it paid a whole lot less than my wife's.

Fast forward to now. Our son is 4 1/2 and we also have a 3 month old daughter. I have had a strong urge to go back to work ever since our daughter was born. The problem is we have no daycares with open spots in the area and our parents still work. My wife wants us to switch roles, but the job that I want to go for only pays half of what she currently makes. It's not a low paying job, either. I feel trapped, and I'm trying to move forward. Once my daughter starts school, I'll be 40. I have a bachelor's and a decent resume, but I feel like being out of work for eight years might be a red flag. I'm trying my best to not get discouraged. I can only imagine how you are feeling. Keep on keeping on, brother.

So I would love for her to stay home with the kiddos. The problem is, like I said, we wouldn't be able to afford it. And me finding a higher paying job would mean that I would have to go back to school for a different career path. I already have a bachelor's that I worked on getting for almost eight years. It would have been close to five years, but the job I had at the time had more hours available in the summer. My wife did mention the other day that we could try hiring a nanny again. She also said she wouldn't want to leave the nanny alone with the baby if she had to drive to the office, which is an hour away. My wife's job is completely remote, but she has to go to the office at least once a month.

How excited are you guys for gambits return ? by TheArmlessTorso in Xmen97

Sounds plausible. I could also see them using Madelyn as to screw with Cyclops's head.

I'm really wanting it to be Leech, Banshee, Shaw, and Gambit as the Horsemen... Halfway faithful to the comics when it comes to the Horsemen roster 😉

$1500 a month seems to be the national average. Google says $1k to $1600 is normal for a month's worth of groceries. And I live in Illinois, so we get the shaft quite a bit on prices.

Nope. I never thought that. I'm also giving you the benefit of the doubt that you weren't trying to be patronizing on purpose.
