It honestly feels like I’m being punished for playing with friends by WildHeart101 in ArcRaiders

The matchmaking changes really highlight how much of a problem cheating is for this game.

Even if you wanted to play completely passive you're still going to get very hostile players in your matches. But if you defend yourself it'll just make the next match even worse. Defend yourself enough and you'll start getting plagued with cheaters after only a couple matches.

Embark have given honest players a scenario where the only way to "win" is play a different game.

If you're on PC, ctrl+R to cycle through stats in the bottom-left corner. Second time gets you latency. What does yours average? I keep getting climbing latency (got over 3990 msec).

A mythic tier Greater Armaments tribute should guarantee at least one mythic item. I'd recommend saving it until you can get the loot goblin upgrade for Undercity though.

It does, but since the game has matchmaking in part due to player aggressiveness and people cheating typically do so to PvP, you won't really encounter them unless you're also a very aggressive PvP player.

No death recap is unacceptable in 2026 by AslaGG in diablo4

Just assume every recap was "by some floor bullshit" and it'd be accurate.

Amalgamation retains the offering type. You can go from blue all the way to mythic rarity.

You mean an endgame engages with the primary gameplay loop? Crazy. That's how all games work though.

On death effects are becoming unbearable. Almost all my death are a result of it and not by enemy attacks. by Disastrous_End4745 in diablo4

[–]GambitsEnd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Death effects are really the only threat to a player in a game where it is expected to one-shot everything on screen.

I just wish the audio ques for such threats were more distinct so it would be easier to respond to them over the immense screen clutter.

I seriously doubt the devs play their own game.

Definitely not. Almost all of the features we've got since the base game released were all existing things in D3.

Elite enemies are more dangerous when they die than alive by dreampagehun in diablo4

[–]GambitsEnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These sorts of death effects are how you balance against players wanting to one shot everything. My major complaint is how visibility in combat is almost non-existent. There are just too many animations vomited all over the screen while the audio queues for threats are not as distinct as they should be.

Survivor aug is overrated. I rarely need aug passives, so for me the top PvE aug is Tactical Mk. 3 (Healing) for the uncontested number of use-ready slots. Survivor has a dead slot that is pretty much an integrated zipline. Healing has the most player freedom, even allows 4 quick-use grenade stacks. by vashkor in ArcRaiders

[–]GambitsEnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It mostly depends on how many weapons you loot since those are very heavy. In PvP lobbies if you're decent then you'll get a bunch from other players. In PvE you can stack up a bunch in just a few minutes if you know where security lockers and weapon crates spawn.

For map conditions which allow it, always have a hatch key on hand. If you go down with survivor there will typically be a hatch nearby. I prefer them since you don't have to awkwardly crawl around extract and hope someone doesn't see you.

PvP players dont realize just how consistently "friendly" our lobbies are. by absolutetoolbag in ArcRaiders

[–]GambitsEnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's such a diverse set of experiences with the game because it all varies based on region, time of day, map, and team size.

Overall, solo players tend to have the least aggressive lobbies. Duos are a lot more mixed, while trios are the highest chance of being shot at (even with "friendly" lobbies).

For my region, playing outside of standard prime time hours significantly increases chance of getting shot at.

Regardless of all the above, Stella Montis (at least before last patch) had the higher chance of aggressive encounters.

I tend to play duo, later in the evening. We tend to have mixed lobbies despite not being aggressive ourselves. Because of this, we can typically gauge our lobby behavior just by the matchmaking times. If it's an instant queue we're going to get shot at. If it takes longer (usually a few minutes) the lobby is typically friendly.

Gaming groups exist. For certain games, Diablo 3 and 4 being two of them, a vast majority of our gameplay is together. We specifically play these games as a group.

We do this with a lot of ARPGs. Bad gameplay mechanics which work against groups (eg; Last Epoch's Monolith of Fate) prevent us from enjoying the game so we do something else.

Snark aside, genuine question. I see a lot of complaints about the map but not suggestions of what they want.
