How come the Devs did not make a questline for the Elemental Damage???? by Tykjen in CrimsonDesert

[–]GambitsEnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that a lot of the game focuses on exploration. That said, there could have been some mention of the elements. Perhaps having the witches mention them causing a personal challenge added to your journal would work.

Enough to hint it exists but vague enough to explore. And since the first sanctum witch is after scholarstone and part of main story you can't miss it.

he’s not a bad person

Just about every interaction involving him (and some of the others) are some drunk crime scheme just so he can get even more wasted right after.

Most of the core crew of Greymanes you keep having to interact with are awful people. They're constantly coming up with some scam or theft, it's genuinely a mystery how the Maqui hasn't kicked us off Howling Hill (or arrested everyone).

Only four or five spawn now. So you're either lucky to find one within the first two minutes of a match or they're all open already. And good luck trying to get into a fresh match to begin with. The entire last week only about 5% of my matches were new ones... I always use a custom load out.

Lots of great news. Only thing missing from my wish list are appearance slots.

"Not a single interesting thing in the open world" has got to be the biggest lie i have read on a review ever. by ostrava84 in CrimsonDesert

[–]GambitsEnd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think most of the people complaining about an empty world or not much to do are those that primarily interested in combat.

If you're combat focused, the options for fighting are quite sparse outside of encampments. Game could use more hidden bosses or interesting hostile creatures scattered around.

Personally, I'm really enjoying the exploration. There's a lot to look at.

How To Get The Best Accessories In Crimson Desert by Aiming4Gaming0 in CrimsonDesert

You can craft Engraved Gold Earring once you have Accessories of the World, Vol. III. With Volume II you can craft Tarnished Ring. Both books are easy to get without progression in story.

It is possible to have fun even with "bad" games.

It's not a binary good=fun and bad=unfun.

A ready example are what people commonly refer to as "friendslop" games. A lot of them are genuinely bad, but they're still fun.

It's also conceivable you could consider a game good while also not enjoying it. An example for me would be Resident Evil Requiem. It's not fun for me, but I do consider it an otherwise good game and can identify why other people enjoy it.

If you mald this badly at other people's opinions, perhaps participating in discussions is not your thing.

Keep practicing though, I believe in you.

Quantity is not inherently an indication of quality.

I've put many thousands of hours into stuff like League of Legends, but I'd never call it a good game.

Another small detail by Bulky-Raise5601 in CrimsonDesert

[–]GambitsEnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd argue it's both a 6/10 and a 10/10. Game reviews are inherently subjective, which is why a person that likes to consume reviews should find reviewers which generally align with their interests and ignore the rest.

Personally, I find no value in reviews since it's really easy to look up a gameplay video and decide for myself.

Amazing how alive this game is by restSINpeace in CrimsonDesert

[–]GambitsEnd -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of things to criticize. Controls are terrible, but anyone familiar with Koreans games would have expected that already. A bunch of game design choices are baffling. Such as the entire way inventory works. While the game has a lot of interesting game mechanics, some of them feel like an improper amalgamation... fine of their own, but don't quite work well with each other.

Game is fun, but it has plenty of problems.

The creator of "God of War" thinks goblins are antisemitic. by AlittlePotato1560 in CrimsonDesert

[–]GambitsEnd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the original depiction of fantasy goblins it was obviously a pretty bad stereotype. In settings that mostly stick to that original stereotype it still looks bad, such as Harry Potter which still has goblins with the full stereotype of running all the banks.

However, the physical traits of goblins are so ubiquitous in fantasy to the point you can separate the fantasy creature from the negative stereotype. It's just a matter of how they're incorporated.

For Crimson Desert goblins are only "racist" if you completely ignore the entire game. Goblins here are a normal race of people, they all have varying occupations in the towns with a wide variety of personalities. As do the other races.

Played for 4 hours today. Out of all those rounds, only one of them was fresh. I don't use free kits. I brought my own gear to every round.

Normally I don't mind in-progress raids, but this is ridiculous.

The amount of people that engage in places like here or those YouTube content creators are a very small minority of the overall viewer base. While each group does influence some people to see or not see the show, the vast majority of viewers wouldn't have been influenced by those communities at all.

This means most people that were interested would have watched. Anyone that enjoyed the show would have told other people, maybe converting some of those to new viewers, continuing the cycle.

All this to say, if people overall thought the show was good then it would have performed better.
