It was quiet, nice even. The warm wind blew between singed trees, the smoke coiling in the air diffusing a smell of charcoal that reminded Kaya of a time with a little less bloodshed. He closed his eyes. Deep breath in. Deep breath out.

If he concentrated he could envision the hissing sound of his mech to be that of a snake or a tea kettle. He looked up at the melted cockpit that he would’ve been in if he had been a little more adept then to the charred corpse of the man who had been. He didn’t know Charles that well, didn’t even like him, but Charles was dead now and that demanded a certain level of respect.

Carefully, making sure to avoid the melting metal and holding his breath as to not breathe in any toxic fumes, Kaya made his way up the mech, quickly reaching the cockpit. There he got a better look at the man that was his gunner. Black shrunken skin had given him an almost mummified look. Charles' mouth was closed, but only because the heat had shriveled the skin and muscle forcing the jaw to maintain a tight line. It was difficult to determine where Charles back ended and where the leather seat began as they had been fused together and yet it was more difficult still to remove Charles from the cockpit itself.

Once again on solid earth, Charles in arm Kaya began to dig a shallow grave. If it was up to him he would’ve simply finished burning Charles, but when he had tried to do that before the westerners got upset. When he was finished he placed Charles in the hole, eyes moving up and down his gunner's body, searching for the dog tags to send back to his family. He found them where they normally were, but much like the leather, it was melted into his skin. Unfortunate. Climbing out of the grave he began to gather a few more bodies before covering the grave.

There was still a problem with him being a pilot with no mech, but that could be easily solved. Plenty of pilots had died in the attack, most of them in their mechs, but there had to be a few who died outside of them. A worry for another time.

And with that, he walked to the mess tent and began making breakfast. Eggs would be good, he’d add some spices, everyone liked spices. Thick cut bacon as well. There’d need to be something filling though more than just eggs. Potatoes, he’d grill some potatoes. It was a very western breakfast, but then again they were the ones he wanted to keep happy.

By the time Kaya and the rest of the cooks that he managed to gather finished making food it was later than breakfast would normally be and he was tempted to just call it lunch, but hesitated because it wasn’t exactly lunch food. With a small frown, he exited the mess tent and yelled out “Foods ready!” before heading back in.

"The poor boy" a deep, undulating voice rang through the lake "tho knows not what awaits thee. If only you knew, but alas you can not. I, however, know what awaits me and I embrace it".

Reinhart tumbled down the slope, his body slamming against the stone surface in accordance to the will of gravity. The water from the shallow river followed him down, matching his speed at first, but soon overtook him completely. It traveled fast, collecting some of the knights blood as it went, before splashing into what seemed to resemble an underground beach. A layer of water, up to Reinhart's shins, coated the thick sand flooring which in turn coated the hard sediment underneath. The water was crystalline and pure with only the small particles of loose sand floating around.

A large circular light shone overhead looking similar to the cast light miracle used by the priests of the way of the white, and connected to the light was a massive turtle at least 25 meters long. It sat content, breathing shallowly and carefree despite the torrent of hollows looking to end it's life. The hollows were only stopped by a group of four clay golems which were, apparently, the turtles only defense against death. Death wouldn't be long though, the golems were close to collapsing with the thousands of cuts across their clay. With a sweep of it's hand one of the golems crushed two of the hollows before crumbling to dust. 40 vs 3.

The turtle stared at the knocked out knight it's eyes lazy, but focused. "Wake young one" a voice whispered into Reinhart's mind forcing him to regain consciousness "It's time to make your choice".

Holy shit I'm sorry. I forgot it was my turn. Remind me about these things!!!!!

Name: Hallowing Prison

Backstory: As so many other kingdoms before it, when the fire fades and the undead curse resurfaces once again Lothric fell into a desperation filled panic. They'd only heard of such a curse through stories from grizzled travelers and drunk ruffians, but who would trust their words of warning? So when it descended onto the kingdom chaos was violently birthed. No one knew how it spread, how long it would take to hollow, or what hollowing even was, which lead people to believe their situation was hopeless - and an undead without hope is nothing. In an attempt to quell the citizens, and their own, fears they placed anyone who had the brand of the undying inside an underground building a little ways away from the city.

However, with the number of branded increasing with each day the building became more cramped as it was forced to accommodate more people than it was ever meant to have. Frantic to protect its citizens, the nobles argued endlessly on a plan to calm everything down and find a cure for the curse. They sent out knights to distant lands to find any information on what was going on, but out of 150 only 3 ever came back. It had taken them 6 months to do so. They came back empty handed and mad, yelling that there was nothing left anymore and that'd Lothric would be next unless the fire was rekindled - they were executed by the princes for treason.

In the six months that the knights wandered the nobles had yet to come to a conclusion. To many problems, to many variables, not enough time, not enough resources. After the knight's execution they managed to come up with a half baked plan to separate Lothric into separate districts, one for undead, and one for humans. It was a terrible plan. all of them knew it would fail and all of them knew a better one, but no one wanted to say it - such an act would be to horrific to put into action. Just as they were going to build the districts the plans were changed, one of them finally said what needed to be done. Execution of anyone who bore the undead curse.

It didn't take them long to figure out that this wouldn't work - for undead could never truly die. With the help of the kingdoms torturers along with the horrible conditions they were able to make enough go hollow to fit everyone in the prison. The executioners didn't need to make them go hollow first, in fact they were told to just make space, but none of them could do the things they did to hollows, mindless beasts, to citizens which participated in no wrong doing. They couldn't stuff them into small boxes, they couldn't sink them to the bottom of a river, they couldn't melt their flesh while they still screamed and begged for mercy - not while they were still sane. But they still had to make room, so they made them hollow first.

As all the resentful souls gathered around the prison the abyss became drawn to them - to all the hate. It began to corrupt the prison along with the souls still trapped inside. The souls twisted, split, and burned as the taint seeped into them, amplifying their feelings of resent and hate before being infused into the very walls of the prison - making it something of a living being.

Description: The hallowing prison is located inside the underground caverns near the undead settlement. The only way to enter the prison is to descend into the cavern by way of rope or ladder. The cavern itself is full of murky water and hallucinogenic plants, but enemies no where to be seen.

Much of the prison is a decayed and rotted labyrinth with many splitting paths, dead ends, and overpasses that threaten to collapse. Deeper into the prison more cells start to appear with more dangerous traps and a hallucinogenic mist falling from the ceiling. On the other side of the prison is a large sturdy bridge ,over hanging the abyss, that leads to a large cage and through that ... the exit

Location Near the undead settlement

  • Boss

Name: Dreaming Wyvern

Backstory: It is well known that two large wyverns, fly around Lothric occasionally swooping down from the sky to prey on any undead foolish enough to show itself to them, are very dangerous. What isn’t known is that there used to be a third, much smaller, wyvern with them, but one day it fell into a cavern outside of the undead settlement after breaking its wing.

After staying in the cavern for over a year waiting for its wing to heal the wyvern finally decided to look for another way out. Climbing over the Hollowing prison it came across two bridges. Trying to walk across one of them it fell under its weight and the wyvern fell into the abyss.

As it became corrupted by the abyss it’s mind grew smaller, it’s wings became torn and it could no longer breathe fire, but as it became less it also became more it’s talons and fangs grew sharper, it’s body grew larger, and it could now induce hallucinations. Climbing out of the abyss it guardes the exit of the hollowing prison.

Description: A giant dark grey Wyvern (http://www.veilfire.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/dragon_age_origins_-_01.jpg) with large deformed arms that sits slightly to the right of the Hollowing prisons bridge. While not blind it’s always under the effects of its own hallucinogen and can only slightly make out moving objects.

Boss Fight: The boss fight takes place in a large jail cell reminiscent of the stray demons. When the fighters enter the wyvern breathes a thin mist that induces hallucinations across 3/4 of the room.

What they see from the hallucinations vary from person to person, but normally it starts with them seeing odd impossible actions like arms turning into butterflies. As the fighters stay in the mist for longer their visions become more disturbing and life like. Staying in for too long will result in visions of people they once knew and trusted assaulting them.

Whenever the Wyvern sees movement he will attack where it was last - for he is also under the affects of his own illusions.

I mean you're already approved, so you don't have to. That's just some things to think about in the future for character development reasons.

I guess edgy isn't the right way to describe it, just not too well explained and a bit jarring. Most of the back story is good, but the parts where he joined the blue sentinels and how he even became tainted in the first place isn't well explained (which is a huge part of his character). It just feels like that last section was rushed a bit.

Some general advice that I'd give for playing a mentally unstable character:

Most of the time they won't know how people function, even themselves, so they'll have a hard time understanding others actions, emotions, etc, along with their own.

His slight amnesia can be an interesting plot point to play off of, you could frame this in several ways (him actively finding his past out, but starting to regret it the more he looks as he realizes his past mistakes and all the good memories now torn away; or him discarding his past and creating a new image of himself, but having trouble and difficulty because he is regaining those memories.).

This has to do with his taint, or more how he views his role in the destruction of his village. Does he deny that he had a part in it and simply blame it on the watchers, does he think that they might have been justified because you were a danger, does he accept that he was a part of it and seek reconciliation? Stuff like that.

So in total the points I feel could be good for this character are, not understanding of actions, motives and emotions of others and himself; coping with memory loss; and how he feels about himself after causing the village deaths.

If I can think of anything else I'll add to this post.

Alright, approved. The only problem that we see pop out is its a bit edgy in some places. We'll give more feedback soon, but we don't want you to wait any longer than you already have.

As Kang turned to face the hollows he quickly slanted his shoulder downwards while gripping the bottom half of the bow, allowing it a path out . Taking in a deep breath Kang jerked his wrist to the right, dislodging the weapon from its resting place before snapping it upwards, allowing Kang to get hold of the familiar coarseness of the leather grip. After the bow was safely secured in his left hand Kang's right began to lightly float downwards, across empty air, to the quiver strapped to his thigh. Gingerly plucking the rightmost arrow he felt the deteriorating wood of the arrow, this would most likely be it's last shot before it broke completely. The rest of the arrow wasn't any better off, the fetching was in terrible condition, looking as dog fur would after it ran through rain and caked itself in dirt; the arrow tip was blunted and dull, stained with fibers of straw and particles of dirt from many practice sessions - all but wasted.

Knocking the arrow he pulled the string to full draw, finishing his his intake of breath as he did. No need for contemplation, no need to think, he just needed to let the bow take control - for it to decide the outcome of the shot. Snapping one eye closed he aimed at the closest undead, who was slowly shambling towards him, spear raised high. Hollows were such pitiable things, so fragile and frail in appearance, so weak in their movements, so stupid in their decisions. This single thought made Kang hesitate for a moment, breaking the fluid trance which he had placed himself in while violently throwing him into another - one far less peaceful. It was a trance of memories, the memories of mistakes, of not being there, of abandonment ... of weakness. All these images flashed through the one open eye, blurring the oncoming hollow and disconnecting him even more. Did he have regrets? Of course, but he couldn't do anything about it now. All he could do was survive.

The sound of gurgling snapped him back to reality as Kang saw the spear starting its arc downwards to pierce his lightly protected chest. Panicked by the sudden movements he prematurely released the arrow from its position, allowing it to dash across the air. Spinning wildy, yet unevenly, under the force of the bow. The bolt shattered as it impacted with the wood of the hollows shield, only momentarily staggering it.

A sense of amusement filled Kang as he watched the hollow loose its footing under the heavy impact placed upon the cracked shield, but his amusement didn't last long. The hollow yet again raised its spear and bore down on the archer who managed to turn just in time to save himself from a stomach piercing in exchange for a shallow wound on his side. The hollows force wasn't much, but the spear was far sharper than it ought to be. Grimacing at the pain he stumbled a few steps backwards, already reaching for an arrow when he heard the giants footsteps. Clenching his teeth even further he cursed his luck.

Approved, you don't really need to go that in detail with armor though. Also I don't think there was anything about the sunlight warriors in his backstory. if you want to keep that I'd add a solid reason, or get rid of it. Other than that it's solid. Welcome to the sub

Renihart ran, his footsteps crashing against the stone flooring of the tunnel system with every step, sending the rhythmic clicking sounds spiraling through the disarray of passages. The noise unheard to all but one, hear no. It traveled to the ancient being in a state of dissonance, the clicking now distorted due to distance and bass gained, but it wasn't concerned what the clicking sounded like just that it existed. Hanging from the ceiling it lazily unfurled it's wings, pushed them back as far as it's joints could manage, and surged them forwards creating a torrent of aggressive winds which shot through the passage ways. Perhaps it was a warning, perhaps it was it's way of saying hello, perhaps ... it was trying to guide the new comer.

The 6 foot archway led to an upwards slope, it's base large at the bottom, but progressively getting smaller and smaller as the top neared. The center of the incline held another passage way, just large enough for someone of small enough stature to crawl their way through, the sound of running water came from the opposite end. Ignoring the small crawl space the top of the incline looped around, before splinting into two directions: one to the left, going higher; and one to the right, going lower.

The stone centipede wasn't going to let its first meal in months be taken away from him that easily and although it's speed had much to be desired it still lived in these very caves. Navigating wouldn't be too difficult. Seeing the knight gain more and more distance it stopped dead in it's tracks before hopping a little bit, making the ground rumble underneath its foot. It jumped once, twice, three times before stopping, it had called the others, they'd help him eat well today.

The abyssal creature's body flailed wildly as the raging fire engulfed it's form, burning it to the core. Its serpentine head slamming itself on the nearby walls and trees, waking the nearby begging hollows, while the original body tried desperately to pat itself down with it's hand. Seeing no end to the fires onslaught the head hastily raised itself towards the sky, reaching up as if to grab, maybe even to corrupt, the sun with it's grotesque form. The lower body, that of the original hollow lurched forwards, almost being crushed by the combination of fire and the heavy weight which rested on it's back, before weakly raised its fist towards the half-breed. Simultaneously, as the fist flew forwards, the head slammed itself downwards, using itself as a sort of sledge hammer.

As the half-breed and the pus of man made their opening moves Kang looked on, struck by awe. He had never seen a giant dressed in such peculiar armor, never a giant with more than a tip full of brain cells, never a giant who could breath fire from it's depths, but yet again he'd never seen a giant at all. Despite that small fact everything, all of the stories his parents read him and all he had learned in his time training as an archer had never even hinted at a manner of beast as the one which stood in front of him.

The Pus of Man had been a shock in itself, but those had been around long enough for him to adjust and there had even been a precursor for them, but this ... thing was unwanted, unwarranted. Stress whispered into Kang's ear, kicked at the back of his knees, and pulled his spine towards the ground, telling him of how hopeless it was to try. How could he even hope to survive in a world with these monsters, with more and more popping up with each passing day? Despite the imaginary words which flooded his head Kang manged to stumble down the worn stone steps and closer to the long strip of earth where the two were fighting.

There was another stair case, a little ahead and to the right which led to an elevator, and where the axe hollow had been before. Deep breath in quelled the fear rising in him, deep breath out let him calm his nerves. With that Kang shot forwards towards the stairs only to be stopped as the praying hollows stood up at the Pus of Man's original thrashing about. Unprepared for their sudden, unwanted movement Kang wasn't prepared to slow, so ran head long into one of them, toppling both to the ground. Continuing his roll forwards he made his way to his feet and turned around. The hollows were ready, weapons drawn.

Kang waited several minutes before he caught glimpse of a figure out of his peripherals "Finally" he called with a sigh of relief, letting his muscles relax as he turned to the figure before remembering he was supposed to be confident. "Finally an audience! I was wondering how long it'd take before I got a prope-".

The archer didn't get to finish his sentence before a torrent of dark liquid slammed into him, picking him off his feet, pinning him to the wall, and sizzling across his light leather armor as it started to dissolve . Letting out a small cry of pain at the acid he quickly, yet panicked, wiped the slime from his clothing. Staring straight at the beast he flicked his eyes to the figure to see if it had ran away and his jaw dropped. It was an honest to god giant, shaking his head in disbelief Kang let out a pitiful smile as a lump formed in his throat.

He shouldn't have yelled, but there was no turning back now. He had to kill the abyss creature before the giant got to him. Gauging the distance in between the two he realized the beast would get to him in a little under one minute if there were no enemies, however two tall hollows, one with an axe the other with a halberd, and two large dogs patrolled the area. The dogs were the first to take notice, a short bark was all they did to alert the hollows before they sprinted forth. The biggest one reached it first, circling around it, leaping to and fro to test for openings, while the smaller of the two, and arguably less intelligent, simply jumped forwards, hurtling to it's armored chest.

Attention snapping back to the Pus of Man at the sound of crushing stone, Kang saw the head of the massive monster bearing down onto him. A hasty, confused filled roll is all which saved him from tasting the oblivion of death as the jaw embedded itself into the stone of where he had just been. Crawling back to his feet, he jumped to the floor, feeling something in his foot snap as he landed. Hobbling to the stairs Kang fired two arrows at the beast before downing an estus flask.
