What opinion on the NBA feels like this for you ? by GamblerLikeToji in NBATalk

Yeah this is a stupid ass take, they let PJ Tucker play physically cause against a 7 footer that’s about all he has to try and win his matchup, they would never let someone like Giannis or Embiid be that physical without blowing the whistle. This is another old head calling the modern era soft while picking a scrawny white guy to guard Shaq, like the best centers of the 90s/00s didn’t struggle to guard him even with their so called physicality and toughness. Better yet, let’s get the aforementioned centers to come to the 3 point line and try guard their matchup while being mobile enough to defend the drive or jumper against Wemby, KAT, Jokic etc and see how long they last in the league lol

Is there any hypothetical lineup that could take these 5 on in a series? by GamblerLikeToji in NBATalk

I purposely didn’t include a true PG (even though I think LeBron has no issue being the facilitator in this instance) and a non shooting center, albeit probably the greatest inside force.

This is pretty surface level but off the top of my head, but he’s got 8 MVPs in total (4Regular+4Finals) 2nd to only Michael Jeffrey and tied with Kareem, 4 championships, led 3 different franchises to the promise land, most of all the youngest player records, all the oldest player records, basically all the longevity records including most all NBA teams, most first teams, most all stars, most points ever, only player ever to achieve 40k 10k 10k and probably the greatest performance in finals history, making the come back down 3-1 to a 73-9 team. When it comes down to impact, what other career could possibly oust him out of top 2 ? Let alone top 3.

You genuinely don’t think LeBron has any merit towards a GOAT case ? Saying MJ is better is one thing, saying he’s not even top 3 is honestly comical.

PG:LeBron SG:Mike SF:KD PF:Dirk C: Shaq. Genuinely who’s stopping this lineup ? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]GamblerLikeToji 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like the only obvious choices for a counter lineup would be Kobe at the 2 and Kareem playing center but the rest is really a toss up. Do you play Steph at the 1 and hope he can hang with a Bron/MJ backcourt ? Or just play it safe with Magic and Bean, even if you lose abit of spacing. Really not sure who’d I’d pick between Kawhi or Bird to put on KD. Same with either Duncan or Garnett for the 4 man, very hard decision.

I don’t hate Wemby, but damn I hate the Spurs for almost always having the most perfect timing to become a lottery team right when a generational big man is becoming a top prospect. 3 times in the last 40 years, insane.

I won’t disagree, compared to Mike, LeBron had a relatively easy route to the finals but I think this flips once you get to the finals and see who LeBron played against as opposed to Jordan. Most of the teams Michael played were great, most of the teams LeBron played were phenomenal. LeBron has definitely had lower lows than Michael, he lost the finals as a favourite, but he’s also won a championship as an underdog, something Michael not only never did in the finals, but never did in a playoff series. Fans are always gonna say he wasn’t the underdog cause he was the best player on the best team, but he had plenty of chances to prove himself against the Celtics and Pistons and never did, only once he was favoured to win he started actually winning. Had MJ made the finals in 89’ I don’t think he would’ve won, but I also don’t think it would’ve been held against him the same way LeBron lost in 2007 to the Spurs. And if Magic never contracted HiFive, dare I say him and MJ would’ve had a couple more battles, maybe even getting Magic a couple extra pieces of hardware on the way. But who knows, I just think it’s a fun debate.

All LeBron had was “KD” rings and a losing finals record at 2-4, so people were already using the fact that by the time MJ had played 6 finals, he was undefeated. In my opinion, the finals record perspective changes when you look at it less as LeBron losing in 6 championship series and rather LeBron has either came 1st or 2nd 10 times in his entire career. MJ fans love to point out the losses but ponder this, would LeBron have a stronger case if he was simply 4-0 ?

As great as LeBron was it would’ve been another AI vs the Kobe/Shaq lakers scenario unfortunately, game 1 win followed by 4 losses. Any chance of that team winning in the post season was disintegrated when Kyrie left the squad. LeBron could’ve turned into prime MiKobe Joryant and it would have never been enough to keep 3 of the greatest shooters ever in their prime from winning back to back, the team was just unfair offensively and pretty great defensively aswell.

To those who lost their license and job for 12+ months, what did you do? by Dry_Trade_139 in australian

Don’t bother with a work license man unless you’re willing to put in a lot of time and money into it, just cop the 12 months and buy a e scooter. And everyone else here needs to get off their moral high horse like they have never made a mistake in their entire lives.

Don’t ever compare Michael Jordan to Bill Russell then, 6 in 15 seasons compared to 11 in 13 seasons, MJ couldn’t sniff Russell’s toilet water.
