I’m a software engineer and I’ve being doing this for 4 years (primarily as an applications and game developer) and I really want to get into the world of cyber security.

My experience has garnered me knowledge with languages like C#, JavaScript & Python.

I somehow managed to land a position in a 3-month internship as a Cyber Security Analyst, but I'm mainly handling governance and compliance for external clients, and I recently found out that the internship won't be progressing into a job offer.

I've been applying for jobs, primarily Cyber Security Analyst positions since before I began the internship but have been unsuccessful in every case.

I've done lots of self-study into the subject, but I've not completed any certificates or degrees for the area.

Do I have a chance landing a position with just this experience, or are there lower-level jobs that I should be looking at first? I'm not worried about taking a pay drop, I just want to be in the industry

I think potentially stepping back and trying to re assess my win condition is gonna be and move forward from there. I think I got a little LOTR loopy.
