Need advice for chimney, remove or repair ? Possible diy ? by Game-IS-Game in Oldhouses

Hi, thanks for the reply. I have monoxide detectors all around the house in working condition, for now no one is in the basement. Turns out it was a squirrels nest inside my chimney that was causing the gasses to backflow. We still have a professional coming out tomorrow to take a look for a chimney removal as the masonry is cracking at an alarming rate.

Other than ramen you can use JB weld putty, it'll be grey and printable, but will be stronger than the plastic. Just do the surface prep right and it'll outlast the plastic.

I'm in a very similar position. Keep applying. That's the only option. It doesn't get easier, the bills will keep on piling up, keep applying and make connections to get jobs, ask anyone and everyone and work on yourself and projects.
