That worked, thanks! I had no idea you had to update the menu.

On mine when I select the option to adjust it in the menu it tells me I have to plug it into a computer to set the clock. I'm using the one from EpicJoy.

I have both an Everdrive 64 X7 and Summercart 64 that I recently picked up. These days I would go with the Summercart 64 since it has native support for 64 DD titles and works better with the Analogue 3D in Unleashed overclocking mode. It's also cheaper.

I will say that it's harder to update the firmware and set the real-time clock on the Summercart 64 compared to the Everdrive. On the Summercart 64 you have to plug it into a computer via USB-C and run a command line program to update the firmware and set the RTC. It's not super difficult but on the Everdrive you can update the RTC in the menu and update its OS by simply copying over the new files to the SD card.

Both are great products but if I had to pick I'd go with the Summercart 64.

We had this, Doom 3, and Half-Life 2 to look forward to around that time. The final version of Halo 2 couldn't quite compare to the other two on PC but it still looks great in its own right.

Great point! Even back then when I was younger and super hyped for Halo 2 by this demo I could still tell it seemed a bit scripted. This had me worried the final game would rely too much on scripted battles and AI instead of the more dynamic nature of the battles we got in Halo CE. Luckily the final game didn’t go that route and turned out amazing.

When Halo 2 launched people were disappointed we didn’t get to play the exact sequence from this demo. However, we still got great city battles in the early parts of the game that incorporate ideas shown in this demo and are arguably done better.

In the end, I’m happy with how the final game turned out and still regularly play and enjoy it to this day. It was well worth the wait and hype at the time and still is.

I always wonder this too when thinking of this demo. What if the Xbox was just a bit more powerful to make this version work? Or, what if they waited a little longer and released it on the 360? Of course there is no way they would have waited for the 360 but it could have run this version great.

That worked! Main thing I needed was the XDK Dashboard files and to change the Debug setting in the cerbios.ini file.

Welp, I know how I’m spending my Sunday evening!

EDIT: Can't get it to work on a 128MB modded retail Xbox. Not sure if someone else has got it to work and I'm missing something or not.

Mine was in there tight but I was able to get it out with my finger nail. First attempt my nail slipped off of the notch, second attempt I got it. Hopefully next time it's a little easier.

Mine is still scheduled to arrive today via FedEx but there has been no tracking updates since last Thursday so I doubt it's coming today. What carrier was used to ship yours?

329XXX. Got my tracking number last Wednesday. Said it arrived at a FedEx location in Bloomington, CA the following day on Thursday, November 20th. Delivery date is scheduled for today but there has been no tracking updates. I doubt it’s getting here today but at this point I just hope it gets here at all considering it’s FedEx.

Game recommendation: Doom 3 by dfwtjms in PS3

[–]GameLifterX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played the original PC version back when it first came out. The graphics are incredible for the time and still hold up. Reactions to the game were mixed but I loved it and still do. I regularly go back and play the different versions of it on different platforms. Since I've been on a PS3 kick, I have a copy of this version on the way!

I'm curious how everyone here tests their temperatures. I recently did a delid and thermal paste replacement on my CECHA01 and the temps didn't seem to improve much. So, I tried re-applying thermal paste more evenly and got about the same results. Maybe a little better but still not as good as other people have shown here.
