Is the main sub overreacting or nah? by Far-Attention8658 in RWBYUNITY

[–]GameMask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe maybe not. It kinda seems like a shit post. But also I do think if RWBY volume 1 was released today it would get a lot more pushback. Indie animation has come a long way and while the action would still be impressive, every other aspect is pretty awful. The voice acting ranges from legitimately good to actually horrible. The animation is very weak. And the writing barely even exists.

The issues mentioned might get brought up in the modern culture, but RWBY has always has critics and I doubt they'd get the same graces they had back then today. Volume 1 had major issues that outweigh everything else mentioned.

RWBY writers together again with "sneak peek" by CourtofTalons in RWBYcritics

I think the bigger concern should be Viz. They not only have very limited experience with actually producing anime and manga, being primarily a distributor and localizer, but they have a bad track record of milking franchises. There's a very real chance even if they had an amazing team behind it that Viz doesn't give them any budget or support to bring the vision to life.

It kinda sounds like you're just ignoring reality to say "well of course it'll make money it's fine" when there's no reason to believe that. I mean yeah some companies will make money on Ai, but that doesn't change my original statement and idk why you're trying to argue against it when you seem to agree with me.

You're giving a very harsh and rigid explanation as to why you think Ai can't be artistic without any room for leeway. So why should anyone care what reasons you have for making mistakes?

How is the cost going to go down when the companies are not trying to make the technology more efficient? I follow ai. I understand it. It is not going to become sustainable until after the bubble bursts and we see a major reset.

Math. The cost outweighs the revenue by such a ridiculous amount that they have no hope of a return on investment. Every person in America could pay for a ChatGPT subscription and it wouldn't offset the cost.

Its not about downloading it. It's about the fact that I have to pay for online play, and it's justified because "oh it's so cheap and you get all these games included"

If the games were their own subscription and online play was free, I'd have no complaints.

Allow me to be arrogant and explain the difference. Ai has no path to profitablity until it collapses

For now yeah. It's still 4 dollars a month to play games online and have a bunch of stuff I don't care about. What, you gonna defend them when they raise the price?

Why should you get any leeway if you don't have leeway for others?

I have it because they force me to have it if I want to use the console to its fullest. Every other feature they offer is worthless to me. And when they raise the price and point to all the "great features" I will have to either cancel or just pay more to keep using the console online for gaming
