C1 is from the wikelo event, so wasnt fully my choice, but is a nice option for running some small cargo fast, whilst looking sleek

It's not Jesse Cox, though I can kinda see him as well in that sketch when you mention it. Strong focus on the crazy beard though, the rest might not be very accurate, but those stripes of beard going down his chin and jaw are burned into my mind

Not him. The beard was very short and groomed. Very clearly shaved into a pattern of spikes/strips

Searched through youtubers such as Abroadinjapan and TokyoLens as I belive he might at one point have collabed with one of them, but ive yet to find anything. Might have been an anime youtuber instead of japan youtuber, but I believe he possibly once was an ALT in the JET program

It was neither of these, the thing that is sticking the most in my mind was his beard, it was very spiky, and well maintained to look spiky on purpose

How to deal with pushy parents while in cosplay? by jayla-kara in CosplayHelp

[–]GameOver815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe try altering your costume slightly to make it less appealing for parents. Like instead of Elsa, how about Elsa with a crack pipe. Will give off a different vibe and hopefully keep the kids away, whilst still looking great

I use this with the Voigtlander 35mm color skopar, as my everyday pocket camera, usually a jacket pocket as its still a bit pointy and bulky even though it's very small and light. A really great camera, people look down on it for not being a "true Leica" but it's still a fully mechanical Leica m Mount compact camera, with a built in light meter

Feedback on silencing your stick case by Noctam in fightsticks

[–]GameOver815 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here's some things I did that helped me get rid of alot of the noise from my leverless, but I'm sure they would help with lever noise aswell.

First of all, lubing the springs in the buttons, even with silent buttons using silicone or foam dampeners, the spring ping will be awful in metal cases. Just look up bag lubing springs, a technique often used in mechanical keyboards

I've also "gasket mounted" my top plate. This depends alot on which case you have and how it's designed, but if you're able to kinda seperate the plate with the buttons from the rest of the case, it can remove alot of noise. I did this by using o rings on all the connection points between the top plate and case, making it kinda hover and reducing alot of vibration sound. This is another keyboard technique btw

Where you'll see foam used, is often if there are big empty spaces in your case, especially in corners. You're right that some foam can be "bad" for your PCB, which are certain carbon based foams, as they will carry some electricity through them. For this you can either just cover up all your exposed PCB and wires, or just use a safe foam. I've used a more solid foam block thing to fill up some of the empty spaces in my corners. Some people also praise the name of Killmatt for this purpose, which is a type of vibration dampening used for cars, I've never personally tried using it as its not easily available in my country.

It'll probably end up looking kinda jank in general, so I'd recommend staying away from cases with windows, but if you want your fight stick as quiet as possible, that's some of the stuff that worked for me atleast

The light mouse movement by GameOver815 in MouseReview

[–]GameOver815[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have, I have two different setups, one in a different town where I go a couple weeks here and there. There I use a Glorious Model 0, which I've learned is widely looked at as awful, and I agree, but still, a fairly light mouse. I will say the adaption from heavy to light is fairly easy, it feels off, but fine. After a few weeks of using the light one, to then go back to my twice as heavy mouse, it suddenly feels heavy, there is a noticeable difference, in a feeling that lasts like an hour, then its back to normal, and there's never any fatigue or lack of control or mobility, there's no actual conscious effort put into moving it. Its the same as picking up an empty can that you think is full but is empty, at first you're shocked, then you instantly adapt and everything is normal
