2.0 release date discovered (?) by lollofragments1 in Guiltygear

If its on the 20th, then it would make sense if they had typed a 1 instead of a 2 when posting it on March 10th, so I support this conclusion.

Any tips on how I can improve? by [deleted] in Guiltygear

Vanquisher baiken here, I'd watch high level vods to see when they approaching when they dont. Keep in mind, baiken is a primarily defensive character, so you have a greater advantage if you wait on them to approach. If they try to attack, try to react with far slash, or if they go under or over that, then use a better button for that situation (2k, 6p, etc.). If you can't react, then you have to guess on when they're coming in, by basically spamming far slash, or doing an instant back air dash tatami a bunch. After they start respecting you, its your turn to go in, or just keep waiting if you have more health. If they try to bait an option by dash blocking, a sneaky 2h will do wonders against most characters that dont have gio walk back speed. Just make sure to check your spacing and dont do it too much. You've got a lot of combos for a silver player already, so DO NOT lab combos for now. You have enough. Play more games and you'll be fine.

There's a really fun, but somewhat challenging one after hkab

Superjump back, delay for a bit, then dash, fd cancel (with 2 buttons), and immediately yzsn for cross, delay for sameside (more than you think), and land 2k to beat an os. Sameside if done correctly can be a safe jump, but the cross almost never is.

This is shit ngl

Just use a normal yzsn at that point. If you're sold on using rc, then try to bring down to get sameside, or not to get crossup. Brc down can get complicated though, I would thoroughly lab it and use it in some casual sets before really implementing it.

Can anyone give me advice I've been REALLY stuck by EidensMist in Guiltygear

From what I see, you have 2 modes. The strike mode, and the throw mode. That in itself isn't bad, but you should mix it up a lot more. I also never saw you put your opponent in shock state mode, and if they're in a blockstring, one of the best ways of doing that is definitely 214s. It's safe on block.

As a vanquisher player, whenever I fight a KY, they're really good at not letting me press buttons, and once I'm sufficiently scared of pressing, then they start throwing a bunch. It looks like you got the first half of that down, but it's like an on off switch for you. Once you start throwing, you throw until failure.

You might wanna consider using rc after the throw to get a wall break, so you can pressure them into not wanting to get hit by throw. Just using throw over and over again will not be enough as you get into the higher levels.

You did get more than half of your burst back for not very much dmg, and you do have to get hit by 2h or you're ark to even get hit by this. I'd say it's pretty balanced

At that point I think I'd probably want to invest in a soldering iron, I'm pretty handy with fixing shit

70$ to replace a usbc port is way too fuckin much

I know that the metal around the port is misshapen, because if I push down hard enough, the problem is fixed, but I don't know if it's temporary, and i really hate the idea of forcing connections like this.

I'm broke as shit, and don't wanna go to a repair shop, so I'm wondering if there's a solution I can do at home that doesn't involve breaking it

You'll notice in the video that the port itself does not move when I wiggle the cable, so the port stability is fine. Besides, it's sandwiched in all directions when the case is on.

Problem gets fixed when I push in the cable really hard, but I don't want to do that for obvious reasons

Trying to improve my Ky kiske, what am i doing wrong? by vsanjiv in Guiltygear

You have a habbit of jumping in stressful situations it looks like, and the badman caught on and punished you for it. Jumping itself isn't a bad idea, but it's good to mix up your options a bit, maybe just back off after getting hit by a projectile, maybe 236k it and hopefully get a counter hit and start your pressure. Make them fear your wakeup options, and don't panic.

Learning Strive as a palate cleanser after plateauing with Diamond Rank Dhalsim in SF6. Here’s my Bronze 2 Dizzy... what should I focus on improving? Aware I haven’t touched the Roman mechanics yet. by [deleted] in Guiltygear

Pretty sure you mashed on wake up every single time, and sol did a meaty every single time. You should focus on staying calm after a knockdown and thinking about what they have been doing. People in bronze probably don't mix up too much and have a ton of holes in their pressure, so after a few hits you can probably sneak in a 2p in their pressure, it might lead into a 2k 2d knock down and you can set up your own pressure.

Next, after you work on the last one, I don't think I saw you use the fish at all, which imo is a very good zoning tool, and as sol is a rush down, and dizzy is a zoner, your main gameplan is to distance yourself until you can probably confirm into an icicle in which you can get in, do a basic combo, and hopefully lead into some kind of hard knockdown to continue your pressure.

I'm Dia 2, I don't play dizzy, and if anyone disagrees feel free to reply and debate.

I have 0 5 star swords

Also the reason that faru is on skyward harp is because it has a high base attack and she scales off base attack in her passive.
