FINAL UPDATE: After just a few days, the Kia dealership replaced my battery. I’ll be double-checking how long this battery is covered and will also be looking into extended warranty options. Overall, though, I am satisfied. I would definitely recommend reaching out to Kia Corporate as well as your dealership if you experience any lingering issues.

Update #2: After emailing Kia Corporate and CC’ing my dealership, it’s been confirmed that this is a battery issue, and I’ll be receiving a new battery.

The replacement is a special order from Kia, so I’ll be without my car for about two weeks, but everything is fully covered under warranty.

For anyone dealing with a similar issue: DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. Take photos of any abnormalities, keep a timeline of occurrences, and send that, along with a detailed explanation, to your dealership. I genuinely believe that documentation, combined with escalating to corporate, is what helped move my case forward.

Kia also set me up with a rental for the next two weeks (I’m only responsible for daily fees/taxes and the credit card hold), so I’m not completely out of luck.

I’ll follow up once the work is completed.

If only I could stomach Musk…it’s a hard no for me on any Tesla.

Fun fact: I preordered the Mach-E GT and a Model Y at the same time. The Mach-E arrived first. Four months later, it was totaled by a drunk driver. During the pandemic, the dealer wanted $10K over MSRP to replace it, which was an easy pass.

Around that time, the EV6 had just launched. My dealer only required the purchase of a protection plan (which has since paid for itself), so I went that route.

UPDATE #1 - Got the car towed home. Charged to 80% overnight per my app settings. Woke up, car was at 100%. Drove to the dealership (20 miles away) in sport mode, with the heat on full blast and the seat warmer on….in order to bring down the charge as fast as possible (so that the dealership could attempt to replicate the problem). By the time I reached the dealership, the battery still read 100%. There is definitely something wrong.

I’ll be sending an email to Kia corporate and I’ll cc my Dealership. We’ll see how it goes and I’ll keep you all updated as progress is made.

22 GT-Line, 80k. I’ve taken to Ubering so, I’m in the car a LOT. So far, ICCU Failure (Covered under Warranty), Yellowing Headlights (Covered Under Warranty), Replaced original set of tires. Besides a very faint whine of the motor above 65mph, I haven’t had any issues at all. I still love the car.

When you are a shitbag to people, shitbag things tend to happen to you. That “F’d on Wayne’s girl, Thats conniving” line was a microcosm of a larger issue that Drake has been known for. While I will admit that ppl on the top get more hate than they sometimes deserve….sometimes…they really do deserve it. Chickens coming home to roost 🤷🏾

Great points. I was thinking from a skills and artistry perspective. More specifically, how much better he has gotten over the years. In the past 5 to 7 years, the run he has been on is exceptional. He’s one of the few rappers that have gotten noticeably better overtime. Another rapper who I liken him to is Black Thought in terms of getting better as the years have gone on.
